Hi everybody my name is Panos and i am Cretan which means that i live in the 5th biggest island in mediterranean sea, Creta. This is the story of a Monster, the most beautifull type off monster, among the stories through the ages and it started like this..
(http://s25.postimg.org/u8mjv108v/431345_3430468961743_1593700249_n.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
After a 6000 km and 5 years parked in the garage this monster was mine to train n ride... With it's 900's ugly mirrors "the original ones were stolen" and the big rear fender...
After i ride it for a couple of thousant km i deside that few changes was needed to be done so voilà ....

Few goodies like frame & fork sliders, led backlight, carbon clutch cover, cnc pressure plate, carbon heel protection, cnc black levers were installed.
Also i personally chopped the tail & painted the chain guard, handle bars and fuel cup.
The wheels were sent far far away, to a friends paint shop and there they become matte black...

Xenon light were installed....
But the brutality was not enough so i added a power commander ecu and a k&n filter with the top of the air box being cutted. I also took off the front fairing.

And the story continues as my hanger for improvement... The name of the improvement Dan Moto Exhaust!!!!

Look at dat ass!!!!!!! :D
And while everything was going fine a gas leak apeared from the bottom of the fuel tank. But that was not enough noooo, the battery went off and the acids destroy the paint job of the frame and altenator cover, so a decision had to be made. Your license plates are HUGE
What are the roads like in those parts of the world?
Thanks i will do... The roads most of them to be exact are like crap bad maintaint with low illumination, but this is for the northen side of the island that is more populated, from the south the roads are really nice and the view astonishing...
This part of the road is in Chania town and it was like that for over a year, they fixed it like a week ago... Very very dangerous curve this one...
(http://s25.postimg.org/sqx0cmzjz/004_e1367057722303.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
But on the other hand this is how roads in Chora Sfakion are. Beautifull places there, nice trip for urban bikes, low speed tight road with countless curves that goes from the northen side up to the mountain and then down to the southern side of the island....

The only problem is the village elder people with their old tracks, we are talking for 80 years old drivers there. You don't want to be in their path.. They neither see or hear you!!! This is one of the reasons i have open exhaust without db killers, its a precaution i have to take in order to avoid an accident because someone didn't know that i was there.
new stuff :) !!!!

i also came up with an idea of how i was going to lower my gauge because many have done it with similar way but not at an injection model which is a little bit different how this are behind the head light.... My idea is to use the to piece of metal that they go into the u bracket to support the gauges few modifications were necessary of course but i think it was worth it and this is the result....

I think you have a great attitude about your project and it helps you create a very nice bike.
I enjoy watching your progress.

You should slap some quick disconnects on those two fuel lines sticking out while it is apart.
Makes removing the tank so much easier.

p.s the size is mesured aprox because the angle of the two pictures are different also the blue blur in the headlight is from the bulb... :)
Few more pics before the the first vrooooummmmm :) Also i decided that i didn't want the cheap danmoto exhaust on my new project so i will settle down with the original mufflers for now. Custom full exhaust is on the way shortly but i have to settle my debt to the guy who did the painting job first :) So....

You have to watch with those quick disconnects that you don't kink the fuel lines. You will restrict the fuel flow. You will probably have to re-route the fuel lines.
No re-route.
Just take them right above the clutch like stock.
i think in order to place the quick release fuel plug i going to shorten the fuel lines 4-5 cm....
Today i receive the head light after few minutes i figure out a way to mount it on the bike properly because it didn't have nuts in the upper holes... So!!!

what you think?
Like it a lot. Still prefer a classic round headlight on our bikes though.
Obviously you could spend $$$ forever but one thing that's always been a sore thumb imho is the plastic pee cups. Nice alloy ones would do well on your bike. And an airbox delete using something like the TPO intake kit would clean it up really good as well.
I really prefer the plastic ones don't know why.... I didn't have any thoughts on changing the intake...... Now i have..... it never ends.....
instead of tpo id like try this though, what is your opinion?

I'm the wrong guy to ask. :) Wow that's pretty...price is right too, not much more than just a K&N. I get the theory of re-directing the turbulent air but I really love the intake "noise" on Ducs, wouldn't necessarily want to quiet it. I like how that thing cleans up the bulky box top too. Will almost surely have to tune after installing this as well.
almost there guys!!!!

stock exhaust didn't make me happy with it's sound so i put the danmoto exhaust back on with few further modifications i also tweak the power commander a little bit so now i am ready for few testing rides.... :)
First rides guys and the bike broke down :'(.... Connecting rod failure any advice? I going to sell my kxf so i can repair the monster... Do you think its a good idea of putting carillo connecting rods?
Pre-detonation?
Any pics of the destruction yet?
I think it the M710-004.djm map from the power commander web site that did the damage....
Not yet :/ i don't have the courage or the money to start tearing the bike apart....
The engine is finally opened the damages is a twisted half bearing that caused serious problems to the crank and the con rod... pic soon....
Unfortunately i didn't took any pictures of the engine restoration. The details of the restoration are here!!!! http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=67277.0 (http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=67277.0)
I also install a handmade (ish) quick shift using a wot press switch, a handmade brace and a hidden utility of pc3 that allows to cut the fuel for a specific period of time over a specific rpm range that you personally choose... (my set up, 75 miliseconds, 4000k) I have to tell that it works like a sweet, i don't know if i would pay 200â,¬+ for the dynojet quickshifter but this cost me less that 5 â,¬ and is so worth it, i really didn't know how much quicker you can shift with the quick shifter unil now, but thats why it called that way i guess... :P
Hey the bike is now at this friend of mine which is going to make the exhaust for me.... Here is a small taste of the work he has done so far.... (http://s25.postimg.org/8h597ha7z/10408000_836434836369140_1406539582286532503_n.jpg) (http://postimage.org/)
the exhaust is ready and i love it for two reasons... It's very pretty, for my eyes at least and gave me almost 20 hp comparing to the previous crappy cat eliminator and std headers...

Nice.
That exhaust is neat
ho lee fook .... the amount of work, the level of detail and care put into
everything you did. wow. i'm in awe.
Looking great! I really like the strong color scheme . [thumbsup]
Thanks guys thanks a lot!!! I really sweat "metaphorically & literally" speaking to make the bike as it is right now, it did disappoint me few times by having multiply mechanical & electrological issues but you know what? i am in LOVE with this bike i enjoy every [laugh] except when in traffic [laugh] moment on that bike... And it not finished yet.... :D
I am kind of a project guy i like to make something beautiful for me at least and then move one to an other project.... But if i don't i am planning to put few more horses in that beauty, few more carbon parts and a slipper clutch for sure....
