Thank God for subtitles :D
Call it something else than Top Gear...
In the US they tried to make a TopGear and staff it with 3 fun idiots and it was awful. Worse than awful. It felt like the personalities were engineered by a team of marketing or tv executives, which of course it was.
That said, I enjoy Guy Martin and find him entertaining. Show would be different no doubt, but could be fun.

Yea it's kind of like replacing Vince Neil of Motley Crue or Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. It rarely works.
I remember Van Halen during the Sammy Hagar Days. Just wasn't the same.

I wonder if they're offering hazard pay to the new production staff...
In the US Clarkson can torture the production team all he wants.
The BBC already had a "dream team", which is funny cause I would have laughed if they had originally described Clarkson, Hammond and May as such when they began working together.

In addition to cutting the dashing figure Kopf posted above and being an incredibly popular BBC radio & TV personality, it's become fairly clear that Savile was more than a little bit of a predator when it came to minors of both genders. From the Wikipedia entry on him:
"In January 2013, a joint report by the NSPCC and Metropolitan Police, "Giving Victims a Voice", stated that 450 people had made complaints against Savile, with the period of alleged abuse stretching from 1955 to 2009 and the ages of the complainants at the time of the assaults ranging from eight to forty-seven.[17][18] The suspected victims included 28 children aged under 10, including 10 boys aged as young as eight. A further 63 were girls aged between 13 and 16 and nearly three-quarters of his victims were under 18. Some 214 criminal offences were recorded, with 34 rapes having been reported across 28 police forces."

I'm sorry I asked.
So you can imagine why Clarkson was angry that someone at the Beeb (allegedly) compared him to a truly loathsome human like that. By the same token, given the shameful way some of the brass at BBC covered for Saville and how ugly it got when the story finally broke, you can also picture why they're a bit gun shy about a host who starts to think having a popular TV show might just exempt you from the laws that apply to the little people.

Amazon Prime started mostly for their normal service. They've added streaming videos and music along with more services. It is definitely worth a look, but note that their exclusives are not as good as Netflix.

There are no morals in broadcasting. They should have looked at the ratings impact and just fined him. Or even better, I would have taken one of Clarkson's paychecks and given it to the producer that he punched.

Had they not removed him from the show it could have constituted a hostile work environment and they would be subject to legal action. They did the right thing by firing him. Ratings or not, don't treat people like shit.
