My 7 won't be here till next week, but I downloaded 10 to get used to it. All kinds of goodies in this update. Don't hesitate to upload it.

Never once have I' had any issues. ymmv
It took less than 10mins for 2 devices, both on wifi.
No problems here. The new unlock is great on the phone but takes a bit of getting used to on the iPad.

Yeah. I guess it ties into the new phone having a Taptic' home button.
Some iOS 10 tweaks

The home button item one was nice to learn about. Prevents me from triggering Siri 50% of the time
Hmmm...another operating system numbered 10 I won't be upgrading to. ;D
I like the selections when you swipe right. Appointments, News, the Date and other stuff. I see they added the Hone Kit App.
Did anyone notice that things work a little faster?
Yes, it's faster. The 7 will be even faster with the A10 chip. Messaging is way user friendly, and just moving your phone lights it up without hitting any buttons.
I'm just now downloading it to my 6, works great on iPad. I hope it works on Joy's 5C. She's going to end up with my 6 or get a new SE model.
It doesn't wake up on iPad Air2 or Mini 2
Yep, phone only as of now. I need to set up my Pro, and see if it works on that one.

been doing this with my Samsung S4 android for almost a year. Pretty nice feature, although when I have it mounted in the car it constantly comes on...

That might get annoying. I'm guessing it can probably get turned off. (?)
Ahh. You can delete stock apps now.

Yeah, it can be turned off.
Maps will drop a pin when you park your car, so if you get all liquored up at a club/concert etc., it'll help you find it so you can get a DUI. :D
Raise to wake does not work on the 6.
"The devices that have an embedded M9 chip required for Raise to Wake are:
http://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/07/06/ios-10-raise-to-wake-system-requirements/ (http://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/07/06/ios-10-raise-to-wake-system-requirements/)
iPhone 6s
iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone SE
We’re expecting that support to extend to the iPhone 7 smartphones when they launch alongside iOS 10 this fall.
Why M9?
Apple could have lowered system requirements for Raise to Wake, but has obviously decided against doing so as that would’ve resulted in a significantly increased power consumption because previous-generation motion coprocessors were not optimized for continual monitoring of the iPhone’s sensors in a power-efficient manner."

Ok. That made beer come out my nose. Thanks for that [laugh]
Looks like the reorganized the News App to put stories into different categories.

Yep, much faster. Lots of cool new features. And I went back to a regular size. Done with the plus. Battery life better as well, it's at 30% right now (it's been about 12 hours) and would normally have had to hook it up to a charger by now.
I hope they put that dual camera in the 7s next year. Or maybe in a iPad. The plus sized phones are just too big for phones, but not big enough to be a tablet.

While you can delete them, in reality it's only really hiding them from view. Apple has stated that the stock apps only take up approximately 150mb worth of space and that deleting them altogether would cause problems with the firmware.
For me, it has been sucking down the power and also not reporting current battery levels correctly...

regular ol' 6. bought it in June of last year.
I remember one of the reviews I saw of the first iPhones, which said something like "...but who really wants to make phone calls with a porkchop pressed up against the side of their head?"
And the answer:

I never have battery issues, but I turn off everything I'm not using.
My 6 is working fine. I tend to keep Bluetooth turned off and that saves the battery quite a bit.

I can try that. Just need to remember to turn it back on before I get back on the bike. I have the Sena Bluetooth headset...
Well. There's your battery draw. ;) I keep all of it off unless I'm using it, bluetooth, wifi, close out all apps etc etc.
Sooo, I wonder if there are going to be new iPads coming this year?
(Although I'm perfectly satisfied with the Air 2 I have now)
Lotsa chatter about the 3 and mini5, but i doubt they'll get them out this year.

Id like to see a new Mac mini maybe next year
Looks as though they may announce the mini 5 end of the month. (?)

Joy will need a new Mini at some point, she has the 2 with 32 gigs and it still works fine.

I'm not sure it's just that. At times I have seen it drop a percent/min or more.
Sometimes an older phone (not that its old) struggles with a new operating system. 10 was a big one and designed to work best with the new chip.
So they have all this new texting stuff to fool around with.
Yeah baby!

Looks nice. I think they are too big for me though.

When I first got the plus, it felt like I was talking on a shoe box lid. Took about a day. I was using someone's 5s the other day, and it felt as small as my iWatch. :D

I'll have to check one out again in the store. The way I see the phone is a pocket communication device/reference Computer. I do about 60% of stuff on the iPad and another 20% on the Mac. The phone is too small to do much with pages, Numbers, PDF's online banking and other stuff, so for anything involved I use the other two machines.
If, if you use it for taking pics, the new camera on the plus is bad ass. I use mine for photos and videos when I'm teaching on the range. Bigger screen comes in handy when I'm showing them how make the beast with two backsed up they are. Oh, and it fits just fine in my pocket.

I like the look of that camera. I take most photos with the phone as well. What I really like the most is how all this stuff works together via the cloud. Then you just use the right machine for the job you need to do.
[thumbsup] I'm all in.
The treadmill.

I heard about a rope trick to install iOS 11 before the beta even comes out. ;D
:D
Don't like IOS 10?
Go here... https://ipsw.me/#!/download ...pick your device and try to download a signed version of the previous software version ie: 9.3.5 and install through itunes
Choose your device from the Summary tab under Settings from the left sidebar panel, once the device is detected in iTunes. Press and hold Alt key (on Mac) or hold the Shift key (on Windows) and then hit the Restore button in iTunes. iTunes will prompt you to select the .ipsw file you downloaded earlier in step 2.
Hurry...signed versions are only available for a limited time.
Problems? Check here... https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201210
It works!

Are you having trouble with iOS 10?
My son was. For me, any Apple device is trouble.
IOS 10 is unnecessary for his purposes. 9.3.5 is all he needs.
It's gone, and I've saved the signed software roll back so if he updates again because of apple's annoying notifications...I'll revert it again.
