That is how I do ribs, and it always goes very well!
I cook them in the oven at least 24 hours in advance, really slow. maybe 250 for 3 hours or so, wrapped tight in tinfoil. When it's time to heat them up, I let them come up to room temp, and then throw them on the grill with BBQ sauce just long enough to heat them up.
Tasty!

Looks like rain Friday and nice Saturday Sunday last I looked.
Friday A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Friday Night Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
Saturday A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76.
Saturday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59.
Sunday Partly sunny, with a high near 78.
Not a total washout by any means, but we'll get some rain. We'll have the canopy set up.
Monday is supposed to be sunny and around 80. :P
I can ride in the rain. I've done that before.
A couple times.
It's traditional to have torrential drought during dimby.

I asked her.
She said we still have the damn Miracle Whip from last year. ;D
We have all that stuff. :P
LOL. I never use Miracle Whip other than for sliders either.
I'll need 3 TB mustard and a tsp Worchestershire, and either 2/3 cup each miracle whip and Mayo, or just 1 1/3 cup Mayo. I don't always use the MW. I can always pick up some Mayo at the store--I don't want to hog it all!
Thanks!

Hi All,
I'm diving :-[ up which means I can bring stuff. Jewish style cucumber salad and a very basic tomato sauce. Kirbie cukes and San Marzanno tomatoes from the garden. Of course I will also stop by the liquor store.
See ya soon.
Bags packed, then repacked to make room for a few necessities..... And to keep the rain gear near the top.
Meeting Ddan tomorrow morning for the ride over. We usually make a 2 hour ride last all day, but the weather might have a say in our route :P
We're picking up Diva now and heading to our mid point camp ground. See you all tomorrow!
Checked in for my flight.
Will also stop at a liquor store on the way from Logan Intl.

Only beer and wine is available elsewhere.

Brisket...
One flat cut brisket. Not just the point cut.
Rub with salt and pepper, and let it reach room temp...cook on a smoker, I use lump charcoal and apple wood, at ~225 until the internal temp is 165. Wrap in foil...double it up...no time to get cheap...and continue cooking until the internal temp is 190-195. Remove from smoker and place in an empty cooler for 2 hours. You can serve it then, or refrigerate and reheat later.
Thanks to all that came. We had a great time.

Recipe for the Amazon cupcakes (from Made from Scratch: Daily Bread Bakery & Cafe by Betsy Bott)
Makes 12 jumbo cupcakes, or 2-9" cake pans, or 24-36 small cupcakes--Use cupcake liners or grease and flour pans really well
Filling:
1/2 lb (1-8 oz package) cream cheese (I found Philadelphia gives the best creamy texture)
1/4 cup white sugar
1 egg
1/3 cup whole walnuts (or pieces)
2/3 cup chocolate chips
Beat together cream cheese, sugar, egg, and walnuts (if using pieces, fold in at end with chips) until very smooth.
Stir in chocolate chips just to distribute.
Cake:
2 3/4 cups unbleached or all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 3/4 tsp baking soda
1/3 tsp salt
2 1/4 cup cold water
2/3 cup oil, sunflower or other light variety
2 TBS vinegar, white or cider
1 3/4 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 F.
Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Make a well in the center.
In a separate bowl, whisk together water, oil, vinegar, and vanilla.
Pour water mixture into well of dry ingredients. Beat with whisk or spoon until combined; 25-30 strokes. Will be real soupy, and may have a few lumps.
Fill muffing tins 2/3 full of batter (for small cupcakes a scoop of a 1/3 cup measure works great).
Drop between 1/2 and 1 TBS filling into center of each. When making cake pans, I just randomly drop the filling throughout the pan.
Bake 35-40 min until cake portion springs back to the touch. In my convection oven the small cup cakes only take 20-25 min.
Store in air tight container. Freeze well.

I was just thinking about this the other day. Though maybe with the leaves coming down it might be easier to find.
The news will be reporting about a UFO sighting in NH.

That's the exact reason I found it. Leaves are really thinning out.

You'll have to come to DIMBY to find out. :P
It is the remnants of our beanular sacrifice.

Seems so long ago...
but I didn't forget.
Took some trash down to the shed behind the barn and something caught my eye.

Can you make it out?
I didn't measure it, but it's roughly 50 feet. I'll let herm climb in there with the dumb end of a tape next year and we'll measure.
Added to the collection. [thumbsup]

Missed a few posts.
I figured it was a bean can after so many comments over the years.Lol!
Bonfire, beanworks, fireworks.
Mates of mine used to fill a tail shaft with fuel, lay it in a fire, then drive like mad to a ‘safe’ (highly relative term) distance to listen and observe.
Crazy buggers!
The next morning was spent searching for the landing site! Lol!

What's a tail shaft?
Drive shaft from engine to differential. Semantics!

Figured that, here in the US that term is used for marine drive shafts.

Siding party at DIMBY next year? Wood or metal?
I wouldn't put metal siding on a 150+ year old barn.
I would, and will before too long, put a metal roof on it.
A DIMBY weekend isn't enough time. When would we drink? :P

Clapboards, or shingles.
He'll never make it east of Colorado.

The fireworks were pretty cool
I figured I'd put this little piece of shit news here, since I think you guys met him at this DIMBY.
My friend, and neighbor, Cory has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Keep him in your thoughts. It's going to be a long process.
Damn.....
Sux!
Tell Cory hey, and let him know the crowd is in his corner.
Shit! Please send Cory and his wife my best.
Shit, best wishes to him and wife
Sorry to hear. I wish him the best in his battle.
WTF? Cory, mate..... ???
A giant collective call out of "C O R R R R E E E E E E E E E....." is required...
Sending the gritty little bastard Good Thoughts and positivity from afar - he's gonna need every bit of it for this battle.
Not much more to add then what has already been posted. What a crappy lot to draw for such an awesome guy. Let him know the ML's are thinking about him.
Tell him he will be in my thoughts. My dad had it too....
Cory's surgery is today. It's a 12 hour long deal. He's, so far, had 6 weeks of chemo then a month of radiation, so this part should be a piece of cake...right?. :-\

Wishing your friend and DIMBY supporter a fast and full recovery after what sounds like a grueling day (& year).
Good luck, Cory.
Rooting for ya, Corey mate (coz you're gonna be a while in recovery, so somebody needs to ;) ).
Seriously.... here's wishing you all the very best in this tough round, of this tough bout of yours.
My best to you Cory. To a quick complete recovery [beer]
Cory made it through the day. He lost pieces of pieces, and some entire pieces. All in all, not bad for a gig you're not supposed to survive.
Hoping I can get to visit him soon. Due to his weakened immune system, we haven't been able to visit in...forever.

Cory is home. He has a fair amount of discomfort, mostly at night.
The good news...his doctor called yesterday and all the biopsies they took during surgery, both of the surrounding organs and lymph nodes, came back clean.
Looks like the little make the beast with two backser has it beat, for now anyway. [thumbsup]
