Picked up a new  monster 1100 evo ( in red of course) today.
Very short on time, but managed to turn a 10 klm ride home into a 75 klm ride thru the dandenongs.

Plenty of traffic, but I am impressed already.
Prev bike was a 1800 cruiser, which while having plenty of go, is def not a sport bike.
Quick blast thru the hills on the evo made that clear.
No more pushing the envelope.
For now, I have a bigger envelope!
Love the pop and crackle on overrun, and it seems I have more lines to choose from in any corner.
I ordered the bike with a 14t sprocket from new, and am quite impressed. Managed to get the dtc lights flashing within the first few klms. Front wheel wants to launch in 2nd at every turn.
No snatch or grab anywhere in the rev range, maybe I got used to a gentle hand on the m109. Managed to be able to spin up the back wheel on that one at will.
Had to check myself a few times, easy to add 5 km more at every corner. 20 corners later, you are at warp speed.!

Am gonna lurve this bike.

Congrats on the new machine, you've already discovered that corners are there to have fun on and not just to slow things down.
Pics are always welcome stock or otherwise.

sorry for the delay - no time, and usual dumbass 'dont know how to upload pics' answers

There are plenty of other photos on my album, few ducatis, but a trip over the himalayas by bike, many road trips by cruiser.

feel free to enjoy.

PS have 150 klms on bike now, has freed up considerably even in that short period. Nice having a choice of lines in corners!

nice bike, does the rim tape only go so far? looks like it doesn't go all the way round??

Partial rim tape only.

Maybe if you put heavy stuff in it!.

I use my bike as a commuter as well, so briefcase and change of clothes only in there.
If the number plate was relocated slightly, it also would 'hide' the plate from overhead gantries, ie no tolls!.

Nice bike, welcome to the family.

promised the wife I wouldnt mod this bike
Today I of course, 'added' things to it rather than modding it.

Garage door opener momentary switch on the front screen, opener under the screen, tucked in behind with velcro.

Gotta have the luxuries. Ride into a dry garage when it is raining, dont have to remove helmet or gloves, or fumble with keys.
Next to bike is beer fridge, to have a coldy when ride is over, and clean visor/bike screen.

i don't know much about the evo, but it looks like the pick of the new bunch.
