I remember this being posted on TOB.  Anyways i need new insurance for my bike due to getting screwed by state farm.  Any suggestions for a company that doesn't scorn liter bikes?  Liberty mutual said they wouldn't even touch it  [bang]  I need full coverage because of the loan and state farm was around $1600 a year.  So anything better would be awesome.  Thanks in advance

Try Dairlyland.  There's an agency out on the Island that carries them.

As a new rider with a non-NYS license, I only paid 800 or so per year on the Monster.  If I were to get a NY license, it should drop stone-like [thumbsup].

I can't seem to remember the agency, but the company's website is the following:

GLantern,

This may be less applicable now that you ride a 1098, but I recently repriced my full NYC policy after DNA announced that they were able to convince Foremost to reclassify the Monster and SportClassics.  Here's what I found for the '07 S4RS w/ ~$3500 in optional equipments:

Geico: ~$1660
Dairyland: ~$1290
Progressive: ~$1040
Foremost (div of Farmers): ~$896

Kroe

Here you go GL:

Pakhan pointed me too them on TOB. They saved me a ton of money over what Geico and Sentry wanted to charge me. NYC residents get F'd big time. I'm 33 with a clean driving record and my insurance is ridiculous, $1700+ on the CBR for full coverage. Geico wanted $5500 and Sentry $6600. I was going to buy an brandy new Mille but the insurance $$$ made it unthinkable.

Give these guys a call and good luck.

Good going CDawg  [thumbsup]. That's a big difference in premiums.

I used to have Dairyland/ Sentry (same company) but called "Motosport" that Kroe listed and got a cheaper rate.  But I only have liability, it may vary for full coverage.

Not to be a Nagging Nanny, but broker needs to get paid somehow.  Either it's added to you bill (happened to me in the late 90's; ~$25 per year) or the insurance pay their commission.  I'm always concerned that if Insurance A is willing to pay a slightly higher commission than Insurance B, but charges a modestly higher premium, will the broker recommend Insurance B?  I say, call a broker, but do you own homework as well to see where you get the best deal....

When I first used Motorsport, I paid them $100 fee right off the bat. Since I've never left them (but have moved to different insurance companies), they haven't charged me anything other than the re-up with the new insurance company.  [thumbsup]

I was hunting for a good insurance rate this past weekend for my 696 and surpriseingly GEICO gave me the best offer.

GEICO $733 (Comprehensive)
Foremost $1456

My friend used to be in home and auto insurance and told me that companies will give brokers exclusives on certain types of insurance you can't get directly from them.  They offer these policies only through their approved broker network at lower rates to offset brokerage fees.

Not saying all policies or all brokers, just that this is the case sometimes.

Good point.  I shall add brokers to my diligence list next year.

I was quoted for inside the city.

It was for full coverage with 100/300 limits.  The damage came out to $1,300+.
