They had a Moriwaki Moto3 bike at Laguna Seca

KTM has been circling around this formula for a few years now.  Seems I recall Bike UK covering their 250 and 450 singles prototyped as track bikes.

Great formula, IMHO.

Well they have a very strong engine in the motocross 250SXF and all their brands seem to have that much more power than the rest. So they know how to make power!

but Honda already has the contract for Moto3....not saying it won't be an awesome track machine or seller...just merely mentioning that they are pouring resources into a hole that hasn't been created yet

Moto3 will be a single cylinder 250cc 4stroke made by Honda. http://www.motogp.com/en/news/2011/Honda+unveils+Moto3+machine Unless the rules change, I don't see how KTM's 350 engine will be allowed to race. What they might do (as has been done before) is to setup an introductory and low-cost championship where everyone has their bike (engine + frame, etc).

Maybe it's just their Moto3 chassis (or something very close), with their own 350 single stuffed into it.  [coffee] I'm sure it isn't an actual Moto3 bike...that's just what it's being called for now it looks like.
