Pros & cons of the Corbin Monster seat

Seems there a lot of opinions on the the Corbin Monster seat...
tell me what you think?

I've had one for years. I like it.

It's wider than the stock seat. $:-\$ If you have short legs you might not like it.

It's firmer than the stock seat.

It's flatter than the stock seat.

Doesn't drive you into the tank

The passenger area is sculpted unlike the stock seat

My wife found it less likely to slide forward under braking.

No storage underneath.

I am debating between getting the Corbin or taking my existing seat and shaving it lower and flatter...like the Corbin,,, to negate the slide forward. Bunch up the junk!
I am also installing rear 20mm spacers to raise the rear
I do have long legs 34" inseam
Are the Corbin's completely made of leather?

Mine is not leather.

Those spacers will change the handling drastically besides raising seat height...be careful.

Yeah, that's what I hear , spacers make steering much quicker
I may also raise my forks back uP in the triples if need be too

Just be aware...

you can raise the forks and then drop them slowly until you get it the way you want it.

Would the Corbin be a good touring seat for two up day trips?
Or, is there another seat that would be more comfortable for two up touring comfort?

Check out Sergeant seats. I found the Sergeant to be more comfortable, with storage and retractable tie down hooks.

My bike came with a Corbin. I traded it for a Sergeant with no regrets.

I got a pair of the Gripster pads which helped me immensely both going on the windy bridges and sliding forward. I've never actually used the Corbin seat, though.

You can get the stock seat refoamed for a fraction what a Corbin cost. Check out http://greatdaytoride.com/Home_Page.php

I'd suggest doing this first. Corbin is hard as a brick. If that's what you like then it might be your ticket but that's a lot of money to find out if your ass likes a hard seat or not.

Yes, have decided to shave seat down and recover.
I want to basically lower the rear just before the cowl, more level & keep the main side shape of the factory Monster seat.
I do like to slide over from side to side when on some of my more aggressive riding.

I really like my corbin seats, it's a bit wider than the stock,not slippery ,passenger sits more comfortably coz of the contours of the seat.I switch around from stock to corbin depending if i have a passenger or not.

I've heard much more mixed reviews on the Corbin than the Sargent, but I like the looks of the Corbin a bit more.

Main downside is the seat smells like ass.

I don't actually have one, but since all my seats smell like ass I assume Corbins do too.
