First off, Ive done my best searching and maybe i missed something but...
I just bought 4 Zero-11's and all the install forums ive read talk about "The Black Box" and if i dont use it, the world will explode. Well, mine didn't come with a black box. I got two resistors per, no box. I just bought them new from monsterparts. What am i missing, new zero's don't need black box or should i be looking for a black box?

I have an 02 620 if that makes any difference.

and since you are here, how many resistors should i use?

Thanks guys [bow_down]

The black box was/is there to change the voltage. Maybe Rizoma finally went 12 volts.

Call Jeff - he'll know [thumbsup]

The resistors are the black boxes.

And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Thanks
I just went to the Rizoma website and they list them as 12v now in the tech specs.
Thanks for the reply.

I simply assumed "the black box" always meant the stock electrical connector that comes on the ducati, not the resistor. If you have a 696/796/1100, one resistor will be fine. this shit aint rocket science people.

If Rizoma went 12 volts this is of historical value only, but this thread shows it all.....

THe resistors don't change the voltage, they change the ohm rating of the light.

The stock lights on the 696 are 10ohm. LEDs are less than that so you have to add more resistance.

All lights for motorcycles (with 12v systems) are 12v lights (or in the case of the convertor box for the Rizoma, 12 V compatible), otherwise.. POP!

Signals installed!
no load/converter/black box (whatever you want to call it) just one resistor and NO POP. [thumbsup]
Thanks

I'm glad to hear they have gotten rid of that box.  I can put Rizoma signals back on 'the list' now.

There used to be two boxes, one the power and the resistor.
then the big power box was replaced by a small power box
now just the resistor.
there are instructions for installing with 0, 1 or 2 resistors...ducati's take 1 resistor (as has been said)

Who'd you buy them from?

I bought them from mosterparts.com along with a bunch of other stuff. I had no problems at all and will buy from them again.

I'm not sure I'd trust them - you never now where they are lurking - maybe closer than you think  ;D
