I want to switch over my coffin style reservoirs on my 96 M900 over to the cup style reservoirs simply for vanity reasons and have a question regarding this. I'm looking at items like this on ebay;
http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-Ducati-Monster-S4R-Front-Brake-Reservoir-Fluid-Tank-/320819259977?hash=item4ab2516a49&item=320819259977&pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr
I'm wondering if I simply take off the coffins, can I replace them with these? Or is it more complicated then that? (thats my guess,lol)
IF you know, what do I have to do? TIA

the square reservoirs are integrated into the brake/clutch masters.
in order to get the round ones, you will need the entire master cylinder assembly (including levers)

get some nice square covers and learn to live with the coffins  [thumbsup]

although, in doing this mod...you will most likely very signifigantly improve your braking feel and ability as the coffins are not exactly the most confidence inspiring or top of the line components

Yes

Good news is a lot of Monsters and other Ducs used those masters so you shouldn't have much trouble.

An alternate plan would be to pick up the 999/749 style radial masters. They come with reservoirs and aren't too costly- though would require new lines as the fluid exits are in a different spot.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
