That is awesome!

So a cleanse and then back to bad eating habits?!   I LIKE that!!!    [drink]

And Carlos, you should think about waxing your big toes.    ;)   (kidding!  sort of!)

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.

Ok so I just finished a bag of Fritos, crumbs and all. (Did you hear my hand rustling in the bag?!)

Left overs from the family visit - otherwise they wouldn't be here.

If I weigh myself now, what are the chances I'll have lost weight?  Or at least didn't gain any?

Started couch to 5k about 4 weeks ago.  Everything was going good until week 4.  Did my first run and it wasn't as easy as the other weeks.  I started getting shin splints so I have to back off now.
Anyone have any advice?

For me, shin splints would always mean time for new shoes.  Some time off helps too, try bicycling or swimming as non-impact alternatives.

i tried running again...it was harder to go less distance.

i'd rather get on the bicycle and ride 70 miles than run 1.

time to get on the bike i guess.

I've been running since I was 12 and I'm now 60.  I have never fallen in love with it.  If it is any consolation the first mile is always the hardest.  Here in Texas it is now incredibly hot so I now get up at 5:00 AM to run during the coolest part of the day.  Biking would be more fun and I would love to XC ski instead.  But, biking takes too long and snow seems to be only a fantasy of the past.  I told my wife this morning that the good part of getting up and running first thing is that you can have put in a mile and a half before your even awake and know what your doing.

I've never smelled IZ's feet nor Sac Duc's so I couldn't tell ya.

But dog paws?  Yup.  Fritos.   [puke]

Running.  And Fritos.    [puke]

But I partake of both.

If you came to DIMBY West, you would've smelled 'em both, plus the feet of a large shepherd mix, a Great Dane, and a Lienberger (sp?)   :P

My shoes are still fairly new.  I did back off though and am feeling better.  I think I increased my intensity too fast.  Going to do some biking today if I have time.  I am working on stretching everyday too now.

I refuse to touch my bike until the day time high drops below 100. This has been a rediculously hot summer, even by Texas standards. I haven't ran or rode my bike since mid June.

Okay, Potato People...

Time to get this topic off the ground again...   (without the use of a conveyor belt)

So, on Sunday I joined a gym.  It's a no-frills $10.00 a month jobbie...

The main reason was because I tried running in 25oF weather... ya, NO!  [bang]

So, they have the usual assortment of treadmills, stationary bikes, and those machines that look like you're cross country skiing and running backwards at the same time...?

They also have weight machines and free weights.

I went Sunday and Monday, took yesterday off, and went back tonight.

Tonight I felt like it was easier to get going, and when I was done, instead of being exhausted, wanting to puke, and crawl into a hole, I felt pretty good.  [thumbsup]

I don't want to disappoint anyone, but as I'm watching tv, I've got my hand in a bag of raw almonds instead of a bag of chips...  [laugh]
