I doubt it.   ;D

(sorry, just had to chime in before fastwin checked the thread)

[laugh] [laugh]

Sweet one Zach! [thumbsup] That's the firearm version of an artist's blank canvas. [popcorn] [bacon] ;) Those mags in the background look a little big for that frame. [laugh]
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Lighter than a Glock!!

If it comes back to you, you've
probably high-sided.

promag made a drum for the 1911 and I think there was a "snail" mag ages ago.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Hey I'm curious what y'all use for bore cleaning and lubrication.  (sounds kinky).

I've been using just plain ole Hoppe's 9 for bore cleaning.  Anything better out there?

Also, any good places to buy ammo online?  The cost of the .45ACP is going to kill me....maybe its time to get into reloading.

Hoppe's Elite for cleaning and then Eezox for everything else.  Hoppes 9 is the old standard and it's toxic as hell.

Hoppe's Elite is non-toxic and water soluble and works well, and actually works very well with corrosive ammo residue.

Eezox resists corrosion and lubes with a dry film.  And it smells gooooood.

Look at the corrosion testing with various products -- salt spray testing.

Spray a gun down with Eezox and it won't rust.  Ever.

Wow, cool stuff ducatiz.  Thanks!

out of curiosity, what type of cleaning kit do you have?  Otis, etc?

It is a Caspian commander Basic in titanium.  The plan is a no frills carry piece for my wife.  I'm still working out the details.  I need to finish my 2 AR-15 pistols before I tackle this.

The beta mag was used on my MP5 once and I hated it.  It has been in the safe ever since.

a bunch of shit that i have collected over the years.

what you clean with isn't as important as how much etc.

I think I've cleaned my Glock 19 about twice in 9 years.  I mean other than wiping it down and lubing it.  Modern guns with modern ammo don't need cleaning, they really just "need" lube.  Cleaning just makes them pretty.

Older guns or using corrosive ammo, it's a necessity to prevent rust and corrosion in the barrel.

However, many com-bloc guns with chromium-lined barrels will never have any rust in the barrel (never = in your lifetime) regardless what ammo you use.  But you still need to worry about the gas system as particulates end up there.

If you like the Otis, buy it.  if you like the Hoppes kit, buy it.  I have a few different jibes that I've used.  Try different ones and see which one makes you weak in the knees.

Here is another pic of a test of various gun products on bare metal:

I have used eezox for years now and until something better comes along, i'm sold.

I have an un-used Beta Mag for my MP5 too. When it came out I jumped on it and was all excited then had buyer's remorse. Seriously, a 100 rnd. mag for the MP5? [bang] That's just a recipe for a burned out three lug barrel. I keep it around to remind me to not buy stupid shit I don't really need. [laugh] Hasn't completely worked but it has been helpful on occasion. [thumbsup]

Going with a Commander barrel and slide length on the Caspian? .45acp? Post up some pics here or on the gun pic thread once you get around to the build. Sounds like a cool piece in the making. [thumbsup]

I checked an on line website for Eezox and they listed a few Eezox dealers in my state but none were close to me. I have heard of it but don't personally know anyone who has used it... except ducatiz. ;) I think I'm going to order some on line and give it a try. I have read good stuff about it before. My cleaning/oiling/storing program has worked well over the years but it can always stand to be improved!

Another question for ya...what do you recommend for gun safes?

Get one. ;)

Seriously, there are a lot of good ones out there. Even having a semi funky one is better that not having one at all.

Mine are Browning Pro Steel safes. One is an original Pro Steel before Browning bought them. Ordered direct from the plant in Utah. Not sure if they are still there or not.

I'm sure other DMFers will chime in.

PS  Here's a few! [thumbsup]
