They look sharp, although likely will be heckled for being somewhat underpowered in a market full of 100+ hp behemoths.  These would probably be a load of fun and perform reasonably in urban environments.  Cost factor is likely in their favor as well, the best part, it is not likely you will blow large amounts of $$$$ on accessories and thus may just spend more time riding, probably the greatest aspect....

I've been looking at these wondering the same as you, it seems retro is back with the Norton Commando and other similar bikes being marketed...

One other note, although the engine does not produce a massive amount of power, being relatively understressed, is probably quite reliable...

Oh, and almost forgot,  [thumbsup]!

[thumbsdown] I once owned an Indian built 350 Bullet. Biggest piece of crap I've ever had. Turned me into quite a good mechanic though!

[thumbsup] any cafe racer 500 thumper, nothing like em in the world.  Last I read the Enfield cafe racer was expected to be released in India in 2013  >:(

Better yet, find a GB500 like my son's which is jetted for that stainless megaphone and has since had those S&W's swapped for some decent Ikons and now also sports a period alloy fork brace? He uses it for jetting around town.

I went over the himalayas in 2009 on a 500 bullet.

Ancient engineering, but entirely appropriate for India.

I have 500-700 pictures of the trip if you want to see em, i will post a link to photobucket.

Would recommend the trip to anyone.

They were only imported for two years so a good one should be a reasonable investment!
