Hey guys/gals

Well it is that time, I'm getting hitched  [drink] and we have set a date for Dec 22. We choose this date because matt said he would get married if the world doesn't end (which we all know isn't [laugh])

So my plea is to all the peeps out there for some help. I have already tainted my brain by looking at traditional wedding stuff and have frustrated myself. We are by far from traditional, we want to do a theme. Of course the first thing out of matts mouth was a 'post apocalyptic' theme. I'm all down for this idea. But i'm starting to find it a little hard to come up with ideas (like i'm having a major mental block). Some friends have suggested that we need to find a certain type of theme, ex. such as if the world ends by war, natural disater, technology, zombies etc etc....which is what i'm having a hard time with. Also my other worry is I want to make it as close to accurate as possible (like decorations, etc) but don't want to be cheesy  :-\ it seems like it would be a fine line.....or am i just over thinking this [laugh] but also want the guests to have fun.

Does anyone have any suggestions? have you ever been to a themes wedding? any input would be appricated.

The other thing is that I find it kind of hard to find a venue that would be willing to let us do something like this. We were talking about trying to find a ghost town (and ask permission to use the land or whatever) but then there comes the trouble of heating it so its not so cold...plus this will all be done a very cheap buget, I will be paying for it all myself

Thanks
K

Congrats!  [beer]

Walking dead theme?

Rootchick and I just said the hell with it. . . we got married in a park, found vows we liked off the net, silver rings online.  We just had about 20 close friends and family.  Spend like $500.  If that.

Instead of a honeymoon we bought a 58" plasma and assorted home theater goodies.  We figured the money would be better spent.

It really was

:D

Good luck!

Walking Dead sounds interesting, i'll bring that up [thumbsup]

as for the park, well here the weather is a give or take. We could have a nice 50 degree weather or it can be balls cold.

I would do a shot gun wedding, and what we original planned, but he has tons of family flying in and i want to be a small simple nice wedding....But really cheat  [laugh]

Thanks for the congrats

Zombie wedding would be cool. You can also go the more "traditional" Star Wars wedding.

I do like the whole idea of zombie, but then the question is how do you cater and decorate for it?

matts suggestion is that everying attending should bring a hug can of whatever food  [laugh] and another friend suggested make our wedding cake out of twinkies  [laugh]

but i do believe we will will ahve an undead elvis marry us [laugh]

Congrats!!!!  The two of you are adorable!  Couldn't be happier for you and the pups (did you keep that foster dobie, by the way?)

[beer]

Your zombie wedding comment made me recall catching a few minutes of some kind of late night weird TV show that was interviewing the staff of a morgue/wedding venue in New Orleans.  I tried googling that but failed.

What I did find was someone's zombie wedding pics.  Maybe that will help w/ideas.

Love the nontraditional idea!   [thumbsup]

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it
