Hi All,

Just joined this forum (along with Monster UK and Ducati Sporting Club) because I've recently picked up a Monster 900 as a project.

She's an early carb model and is totally in pieces right now - this will be a slow rebuild as my GF and I are currently spending all our money on rennovating (erm rebuilding!) our house.

Other bikes in our household include; Tuono 1000 (mine) Speed Triple 955i (hers).

Cheers - Ben :)

Never wrestle with pigs. You both get dirty, and the pigs like it...

Oh renovations... I just did an 80+% job on a bath... It'll be a while before I have any desire to fire up a wet saw again!

When you get to your rebuild there's a lot of ver knowledgeable folk on this board if you trip over a problem.  Herm ^ is one such person.
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.

Cheers!

Yes I'm sure I'll be on here pretty soon asking some questions, especially as I need to rebuild the engine first.

Was hoping to leave this part until last but seeing as it holds the swingarm in I wont be able to build a rolling chassis without it.

Money is tight due to our house, but I'd like to do some mods along the way to make the 900 my own - thinking cafe racer at present but no rush as making myself and the bike bits a comfortable man cave to hide away in....

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Yes she does but I won't hold it against her ;)

Just been reading the home made mods section and I must say that it has given me lots of ideas to be getting on with- tail chops, can coring, clutch cover butchering etc bring out on!

There is an MOT tester in Nottingham who races amongst other things classic Ducatis ;)

He tested my old 996 which passed no problem...
