You guys are obviously entitled to dislike the new monster... the PROBLEM is that there are better ways of saying it. You are being pricks to the new owners.. what is the point in being an ASSHOLE to someone who is so happy to 1) Have a ducati and  2)have found this forum??..

There are a couple of threads that talk about how some Ducati owners are pricks and snobs... ARE YOU THOSE TYPE Of DUCATISTAS? Plus... c'mon... IT IS A DUCATI.. NOT A JAP BIKE... and it looks like MV's brutale... do you hate the brutale as well? let alone..... do you go to the MV forum to tell other riders that their bike looks like crap? I don't think you do... or want to be the asshole.. LET'S JUST RIDE AND GET ALONG!!! 

I'm just curious as to why there is some much venom in the postings regarding this bike. I, personally, don't care for the looks in comparison to the older ones but that's just my biased opinion.

If you don't like it then don't buy one, simple as that. Majority opinion will rule and if sales drop then the styling will revert back. Yes, its true - many of us think the 696 is butt-ugly. So what? It wouldn't keep me from buying or riding one. I never thought any of the older models were very attractive (particularly the water-cooled 4V's !!!) to begin with. If you think this bashing is particularly harsh, well - stick around, you ain't seen nothing yet!
You shoulda' read some of the things posted about my 620, probably make you feel a lot better about what some of us think about your bike's looks...

I'm new to Ducati and thought It's a cool bike and have a nice community.
Cool bike yes, nice community I don't know??
Most of the guys here made me feel welcome.

Oh well, the 696 is not my first and last Ducati I'll own.
I'll get a 1098, ST3 in the future.

100% agree! First I thought this is a great community for Monsters.  Now I am thinking it's a board with BS and haters!  If you do not like new 696 just write something to Ducati SPA, tell them not to make them anymore and express how sick the design compare to old ones, make you puke and all that BS... 

Now all you haters just discourage potential buyers/ riders to the world of Ducati.

I typically defend the 696, but some people don't like it, and they made a place where they can pick on it together (this thread).  I encourage that-it keeps them out of the appreciation threads. To each their own, and if they want to hate it, that's fine. I just don't know why you would try to defend *that* bike in *this* thread. It's a losing battle.

I'd also feel it makes it harder to ask the trolls to leave those who like it alone in the appreciation threads alone if the people who like it won't leave the trolls alone in this thread. Good fences make good neighbors. Just sayin'.

EXACTLY - I've never read the 'appreciation' thread. I started this thread because too many 696ers were getting offended by any negativity. Plus, this is a 'safe zone' for THE RON . It was silly that he got suspended for his thoughts. 'It looks like a silly child's toy' ties into how childish the 696ers are about someone saying anything negative about their bike.

its the one place I can relief my anger about what Ducati did to the most iconic bike they have.
And again...I dont wanna put people down who really like it.
its maybe a technical evolution and well deserves some time to establish but I just get the chills when I have to look at it.
What make the Monster stand from the crowd was the classic looks that was so well transformable into everything the owners wanted.
And now we have a another ShivTripHornet...well done  
On the German site the 695 is still listed for the same price, also a poll is open to the public what they think about the 696.

No, i don´t work for Ducati or something, I just know they can be flexible and change things if they are not appreciated by customers the way they expect.
But please, check the page count on this thread and then see all the other happy ones of 696 owners.
I just cant stand all the happy ProSecco "chinchin" anymore

this thread allows me to let loose my frustration for ducati following a trend instead of starting one. maybe you should get banned for liking it, since i got banned for hating it. and i hope all are discouraged from buying a new monster. then maybe ducati will do the same thing they did with the 999....... get rid of it.......
