Does anyone else watch this program? It is absolutely hilarious.

I can see having a few weeks rations, supplies, etc. However, these people have food and supplies for years.

The guy on right now has a real solid chance. He just shot himself in the thumb with his .22.

Last Saturday there was some group of adult hippies who had all sorts of supplies. They felt that firearms don't fit in their belief system so they don't need them. This guy basically said "people will be nice to us when they meet our friendly community."

I guess I misread the title.

I love the teotwawki/wtshtf crew and threads on the gun boards

lots of fantasizing about which favorite gun they'll take with them to the hills

no idea how much water rather than large caliber ammo they will need to hump along to keep on the move

no idea how rapidly they will be shot as they approach entrenched groups who do not care about their (now meaningless) politics or beliefs

but are more worried about the intruder's drain on resources and disease carrying potential

no idea that their MRE's have a life expectancy etc etc

no idea that their (non-magneto equipped) On-Star equipped rugged ranger 4x4

will be shut off in the driveway by a satellite so there aren't mass clogs on the highways

and the gov't/military can move around

the only real approach

is to be prepared to kill your neighbors

I'm using this show to justify my aquisition of $140 worth of beef jerky yesterday. "Honey, just watch the Discovery Channel.  We need to get ready for the economic collapse.  I'm looking out for the family with all this jerky."

Other than that, it's pretty useless.

I haven't seen it yet but based on the commentary I can't wait.

The top two reasons people seem to be afraid of are hyper-inflation and a magnetic pulse bomb.

Basically the "experts" have said the chance of either occurring is very small.
