Gone through it before. Still suuuuucks! 

Just thankful that she had a long, happy life, was safe, well fed and well loved. She was a cool cat and faithful companion.

Her one functioning kidney was, I suspect, finally failing her.  At 18, I wasn't going to bring her to emergency and have her on fluids for days that would then sustain her for a few more weeks.

So grateful for a neighborhood vet who makes house calls so her last day wasn't in a clinic - which she hated with a passion.
