based on what we know this far, the "mythos" of Walking Dead, if the brain is damaged, then the disease or zombie virus or whatever can't take over.

now the question is how much and what type of brain damage is needed?  how about genetic damage or mental retardation?

The Walking Dead appears to have a relatively low zombie brain damage (ZBD) threshold... note the abundance of arrow and knife kills.  The writers readily ace zombies just due to penatration, not catastrophic destruction of the cranial matter (ex: extreme amounts of kinetic energy from firearms rounds).  Conversely, the gunshot seems to be the 100% be-all/end-all for the walkers... I don't think we've been shown a walker recovering from one in the melon.

So, based on this highly scientific analysis, I think the poor victim in fastwin's scenario does not turn in the world of The Walking Dead.

This might be due to the writers who were let go after the first season. I read somewhere that alot of the actors were upset with what had gone down, but being that you are on a show with zombies and the ease with which you could be killed off, everyone was keeping their mouths shut. Just a thought.

You know, I was wondering about a writers/producers/director change. I don't have any of the original shows saved to compare to the more recent shows. I does make some sense. I just think the "flavor" of the show has changed a bit. And a change in writers, etc. is usually the cause regardless of the show. Maybe they think better ratings will result from such a change? Better ratings = more ad $$.
I plan to list the Federal Gov't. as a dependent on my next 1040 tax filing!

I have flying honey badgers and I'm not afraid to use them!

The fact that flame throwers exist is proof that someone somewhere said "I'd sure like to set those people over there on fire but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

CONFIDENCE: the feeling you have right before you understand the situation.

Don't forget they are also under budget constraints this season.  AMC wanted more episodes for less $$$ hence much of the

action is stuck on the farm (which I believe is actually owned by one of the producers).  I do dig the interpersonal drama but

visually this season is nowhere near the spectacle of last season.  I do miss flipping GTO's/exploding CDC's/deserted downtown

Atlanta/tanks/zombie hordes etc.  BTW, are we ever going to find out what was up with the helicopter??

i have had guys reach back and grab my crotch in an attempt to get around me. i'll either blow in their ear or ask them politely to let go of my wang.

I have to agree with the dismal pace of the show.  I need a certain amount of violence, zombies and nudity to keep me interested.  Hell, at this point I'll even take zombie nudity.

That said, the comics were all about the human drama.  The difference is the budget is unlimited when dealing with ink and the writers kept it interesting with a steady diet of human and zombie murder.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

I'm just starting to watch the second season and I having them sit on the highway for a few episodes is already pretty annoying. Shooting the fat guy in the legs was something I would have done. Pretty heartless.

my issue with this...rick and shane should be zombies soon.
they beat the shit out of each other and had cuts all over their faces. hell, shane cut his palm open and then stabbed zombies. then they got covered in zombie blood. when they saw the 2 officers they discussed that they must have been scratched due to lack of bite marks.

maybe they were turned like the one guy on hockeyzombie.com and diddled a zombie...

>realism< boooo hisss

I'm more upset about the fact that they are in ATLANTA and 99% of the zombies are whites.  Helllllooo??  Atlanta is not a predominantly white city.

Imagine if they made a zombie flick in Beijing and all of the zombies were Caucasus Russians.

Yeah, that discussion between Rick and Shane was some fairly obvious foreshadowing.  Rick's long stare at the two dead officers before he went back and helped Shane seemed like more of the same.

i figured rick's long stare at them was more due to the fact that he has been friends and partners with shane for forever and the 2 cops laying next to each other made him forget the anger and go back to save his buddy (who was about to kill him, porked his wife, and is contantly screwing things up for the group)
