In the Will Smith movie I Am Legend the zombie like critters had a leader[bacon]

In the book, they are actually Vampires which made it more "scary", because they could think and would stand outside in the night and call his name.

Also, let's not post spoilers if the show hasn't run yet...just links please so people have the option to look.

I don't think I ever got the impression they were vampires.  They were something like vampires, but less emo.  They also evolved from animalistic whatevers into something more cognitive.

Great short story, btw.

I lol'd.

That last awful Romero flick had zombies with leaders and intellect... the one where they were keeping the zombies mesmerized with fireworks - I can't recall the name.  It didn't make that movie any better, so I dunno if that plot twist would really add much to TWD.

I kind of like the idea that the zombie menace operates without rational thought, and the relentless horde is the challenge...  The idea that you could take out some main 'brain' zombie and have the rest of the horde be all, "Durrr, now what?" seems like a series-ending contrivance if you know the show needs closure.

Good point. But I still like the idea of them swinging an axe, etc. Maybe not driving an 18 wheeler, 5.0 litre Mustang or running a chain gun but just some basic enhanced mayhem skills. Just sayin'...  [popcorn]

I wonder if they are kinda like what maybe my ex-wife saw

when I would stagger thru the door at 4 a.m.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

skin missing fromyour face?  sometimes...usually from knees and palm heels from those times when the sidewalk would inexplicably come flying up to hit me in the face

were you saying "braaaaiiinnsss"?  nah...usually something about other aspects of the human anatomy

seriously!!...it is very confusing (and painful)

when you are trying to figure out how and why the sidewalk

is all of a sudden flying toward your face

you only have a few milliseconds to figure it out before impact

I always failed   ;D

Nothing worse than out of line, misbehaving sidewalks. Just won't stand for that in these here parts. ;) Act up and you get jack hammered... not you, the sidewalk. ;D

Can't recall the name, but there was an interesting comic about some vampires forced to defend the last group of humans from zombies so they could continue to feed.  I always thought that would make an interesting show if done right.

Yeah, that was a pretty bad way to go (not that there is any good way in this show)

Proves my point that Carl is an asshole.
