I'm a happy guy...

Duc750's 2001 M750 is now mine....it just showed up here in St. Louis today.
And I already love it.  It's an 11 year old bike, and has it's share of wear and scratched plastic.  But it's exactly the bike I was looking for to go along with my big Harley Street Glide.
A little chilly here still, but have spent the afternoon rolling around and loving it.

At the shipping depot when I picked it up:

My thoughts exactly! I have a road glide and love how both bikes have their own personality.

It would take a Jaws Of Life to pry me away from my Street Glide.

I got the Monster as a compliment to my SG, not a replacement.  That'd be silly.   They're of two totally different concepts and purposes.


And despite it droppiong into the 30's after dark, I gave the Monster a good first day & put 90 miles on it.

As long as work leaves me alone, I'll probably be putting more than that on it tomorrow, heading to the back roads along with the 695 that got me wanting my own Monster in the first place.

yep, two different styles for different purposes.  I get shit from the local Duc group but don't give a shit.  My Electra Glide plus trailer, that's right I tow a trailer on long trips, is perfect for lumbering the mountains.

One of my mates has a 1200 Sportster converted into a Cafe-Racer and we continually rip him over it 'I see the council's left their tractor ouside' etc and get 'wop tractors' etc in return - its all good fun

My garage is also shared with a electra glide 

it just sucks i ride the due and get on the harley and I'm like double the weight! a quarter of the speed! lol but sometimes its good to relax

I'd not want to do a 8-10 hour roadtrip on the Monster....but then I get tired of manhandling a 800 Lbs bike around for a quick run to the post office, too.
But it's like having the best of both worlds:  Big American muscle-car & sleek little Italian sportscar. 
Just a matter of what kind of ride I'm doing, and what kind of mood I'm in.   


That being said, yesterday was real nice, so put 100 miles of backroads on the Duc with my friend & his 695....the bike that made me suddenly go "Ok hun, I'm stealing $4000 from the savings and buying another motorcycle!"  (thank god she rides, too)
