Ok guys, I know there's always that comment about highly strung Italians, especially Ducati. Now I'm relatively new to Duc ownership, having only hit the 3.5k mile mark, and *touch wood* my lil Monster ain't missed a beat. However.....I noticed I left it 2 days without cleaning.

Now I've cleaned and lubed with ACF50 and Silicone spray most nights, especially as I've been riding every day all winter in the salt ridden UK.

Came to start it on the 3rd day, and she was behaving rough, wouldn't catch and fire till the 3rd press! washed her that afternoon, lubed, and Lo! starts again first time the next day....I swear no bike should be able to sense when they've not been cleaned!

Anyone else had any odd experiences with their Duc's....or any other bike for that matter? [laugh]

Most amusing.  8) Purely coincidental I assure you..., but it makes for a good story down at the pub anyway.  ;) There are so many parameters affecting the cold start circuit on a 796, you may never know why. Keep her tidy regardless.

I'll use any excuse to post a pic of Monica Bellucci...   [evil] [drool] [bow_down]

I only see jesus having a sauna with a teletubbie.

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it

My 996 broke El Matador's foot the day he sold her to me, as we loaded her on my truck, no less.  ;D

Ah yes. She left me a nice little parting gift, that one.

She also broke down and refused to go any further until you spent a couple of grand on her that one time you lent her to someone else.

I have never met a bike with as much personality as that 996.

The cleaning thing is a fluke.  Have you seen how dirty my '99 M750 is with 10X the mileage?  It'll pass.  Monsters tend to give plenty of "what the hell?" moments.

yep. Let someone else ride for just a quick morning run, and she threw a hissy fit that cost me an engine rebuild! make the beast with two backs a couple grand, that cost me more than the bike is technically worth!  [laugh]
