You planning on shooting your dinner while you're away!  ??? [cheeky]

Who is going to be game enough to cut him off with that strapped to the side?

No need to worry, it's on a Ducati, it's only there for show.  [cheeky]

Scored a set of Staintunes on Ebay in their clearance sale. $1300 rrp, on sale for $500. There actually not quite as loud as the cored standard pipes, but have a more crisp note and a wicked wicked crackle when I back off  [evil]

Mirror mirror on the wall....

Also have new pair of Metzeler M5's on too, a couple of weeks ago I got to leave work about an hour early. 5 minutes later I was on the side of the road with flat rear, courtesy of metal scrapyard down the street. Anyway I've only done about 20km's on these tyres so no chicken strip jokes yet haha.

BTW there is still one set of staintunes on ebay, suits dual sided swingarms with low mount exhausts. $500 plus $20 postage. I paid for mine Thursday night and had them Monday.

hopefully the images work,

ok this never works for me. does anyone else use flickr? i found the image link from the share button and pasted that between the two [img][img] things. sorry for being a retard at computers

Fixed it for ya.

Before:

After:

I right click on the picture, select view all sizes, choose medium 640.

Then when that comes up, right click again and choose copy url, then paste that in between the img tag thingies.

Oh, and I didn't have to change gaskets when I took my headers off recently.  Made the job heaps easier.

I un-girlied the seat.

695 seats (along with 620's etc) are a different shape to the bigger monsters, with a lower seat height.  That's all well and good if you're a short arse, but if you've got long legs you have to fold them up rather a lot.

So I figured I'd have a go at adding some foam to increase the height.

Step 1 was to practice on number 1 daughter's bike:

So now for the real thing.  Here's a profile view from before:

You can see the shape propels you forward against the tank.

So I pulled the staples off the base and removed enough of the cover to expose the bit I wanted to reshape.  Next I cut some foam (bought from reliable retrim in Melbourne - we got an enormous block of medium foam that was oodles for both bikes).  I coated both seat and foam pad with contact cement:

Then I wrapped the lot in glad wrap and packing tape to compress it while the glue dried:

Once it dried, I went at it with a bread knife (ask your mum before you use her good knives) and cheese grater to shape the pad:

And finally I stretched the cover back and stapled it in place.  The cover is plenty stretchy.

Here's the new profile:

It's much more comfortable now.

Hey nice work Suzyj! neat seat!

and thanks so much for the tip on posting pics. i'll definitely take the headers off and do them properly. at least getting into the little bits with my dremmel

I have to do that in reverse for the tractor bike.
It's a little too high and a bit wide.

Picked up the bike from the mechanics on Saturday. New Rizoma triple and bars, medium size fluid tanks (black) and mounts. Look pretty darn sh*t hot and changes the look of the bike a lot.

I also got the DP seat bag last month, the one that mounts using zips onto a cloth cowling that replaces the fibreglass seat cowling. Looks and works really good.

Photo's incoming, the ones I took last night are rubbush and grainy.

I went at it with a grinder, and now the side covers keep falling off.

I painted the bits where I removed tabs and coil brackets etc with a brush - down the track a little I'll drop the motor out and respray the frame properly.

Very nice, I've looked at mine lots of times and thought that one day I'll do that.
Funny isn't it cause I've taken to the tail on two bikes without even thinking about it.  :o

Cleaned up the exhaust (the most accessable parts anyway) with scourers and WD40.

Came up nice. It was very dirty from years of previous owner's neglect. Should be easier to keen cleaner now!  [thumbsup]

Sorry no pics.
