Hi, can someone help, Iv brought a new wavy rear disk for the M1100, but it hasn't got the 4 metal studs for the speedo to read, just 4 holes. So I used 4 stainless steel allen key bolts though the holes that look ok, but the sensor doesn't seem to read them, so my queston is, what metal do I need to use for the sensor to see them ?
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

You need regular steel, not stainless.

You need a bolt that is magnetic.

Some stainless is, but you'd have an easier time finding a plated mild steel bolt.

I think one of the four will do it...I could be wrong about that.

Great thanks, your dead right, Iv just put a magnet to my allen key bolts and they're not sticking, so il get some that do. [thumbsup]

Just an FYI - Like Speeddog and Ducpainter pointed out, the speedo needs all of the bolts to be magnetic.
If it's got 4 bolts, than it's a SSSA
If it's got 6 bolts, than it's a DSSA

and the speedo is specific to each type of swingarm.

As the speedo is counting the # to determine a full revolution of the wheel. Woulda made more sense to use just 1, but that's not the case...

You are.

My 999 wheels with the 5 bolt brake disk read about 20% low compared to my 6 bolt stock disk. It's SpeedoHealer time!
