I do like it.  A lot really!

Since Ducati quit on the Sport-Classic line, this is stepping in nicely.  Especially with the Cafe-Racer 'craze' currently going on.

My only minor point of contention...  They could've left the word 'RACER' off the side.  Or I could quit knit-picking and remove the logo myself...

Seriously, tho. Good looking bike. I'd rub my junk alllllllllll over that tank. 

I think the racer is there because it's a diff model than the standard v7... there is a v7 and a v7 racer.

It's a very busy design, so many logos and spots of colors and flash... Could definetly use some stripping down.

 I love it!

Too bad the US version of that bike has a painted black tank instead of a chrome Euro version.

i like the wheels.. single rotor in front = weight savings.

I don't like the word 'Racer' on the side cover either. If it was my bike, I'd replace the side cover of the V7 Racer with the side cover from the more basic V7 model like this one.

It does have a lot going on with the bold chrome tank, red frame, and number plates there is a lot to focus on.  I think the U.S. received the better bike for once because we get the black tank version instead of the chrome.  Imagine this bike with number plates removed and the side covers and exhaust brackets painted black.  Then you would have a very cohesive design with just the bold red frame and the black paint job.  The number plates/seat cowl come right off as easy as the seat cowl on our Monsters.

If it's not too busy behind the side plates, the US version might look better without them. 

I'm assuming battery and airbox...?

That is a sexy motorcycle, I prefer that look over the euro version above. Agree with your points Travman.
Tubeless tires? And is the lack of USD forks for retro effect or what's the reason for that?

I'm pretty sure the wheels do require tubes. Most spoke wheels do. The only bikes that come stock with tubeless spoke wheels I can think of are the Moto Guzzi Griso SE and BMW 1200 GS's.  There may be others, but they tend to be higher end bikes, whereas the Moto Guzzi V7 Classic is a sub $10K bike. The non-USD forks with gators do have a nice retro look, but it could be to save costs.  I remember when I was looking at a 620 Monster some of the selling points were USD forks, stainless brake lines, and high quality 4 piston Brembo Goldlines.  Any other bike in that price range like the Suzuki SV650 had non-USD forks and lower quality brakes.

If somebody really wanted tubeless rims they could use the rims from white model above.

According to this website: http://www.motorcycle.com/specs/moto-guzzi/standard/2012/v7/racer/detail/print.html the tires require tubes.

Easy fix though, Deitrich on the AZ Local Board modified his Sport Classic to tubless and I think has a tutorial somewhere in there...

I kind of like it as is, look wise.
The engine would need to pony up 30-40HP for my liking.
