More details please, as a quick Google did not support your contention.

I was wrong about spirits.  It is limited to beer and wine.  There IS a way to get a license to do it, but the requirements are onerous.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

This is the still I did not build http://moonshine-still.com/valved-reflux-still-head/
it does not produce about 95% pure alcohol.
I do not then filter through activated charcoal and cut with distilled water.
I do not know that there a a number of tricks to prevent splitting headaches from the fusil oils etc. (heads and tails)

My understanding is the alcohol has to be cut to around 50% before filtering through charcoal.

You are correct, I was just tossing that out and didn't pay attention to the order I had placed the "polish" step in.
You do need to cut 30-50ish% and then use the activated charcoal.
only for neutral spirit though. if I were to do a schnapps or whiskey I would just watch my temps on the still
and remove the heads and tails at the correct time and skip the polish to retain the taste.

QuoteA sensation at every party. You just fill a 3/4 bottle of cheap dry wine in the flask...........

Hey DP you wouldn't happen to have sampled any Boones Farm wine (using that term very loosely), this might have helped  ;)
