Hey gang, new to the board and monsters (just got an '06 S2R saturday) 2,300 miles... have a 999S LE and used to have a 998FE. Big into track days (NESBA) and live at the foot of the Blue Ridge.

Welcome! There's someone else here from Middleburg. Must be dozens in your Winchester area.

Do you have your own parking spot at Duc Pond?  8)

Actually I use Battley in Rockville.  They helped me on my 998 issue with DNA that mysteriously became my 999.

Not to put you off Battley - but you do live close to one of the best Duc shops in the east... just sayin'

As you might expect, there's a pretty big contingent of members here in the general DC area.

- So any notion of how old the belts are? As you've had Duc before I'll save you the newb speech and just remind you about 'older' low mile belts.

Let's see... from your nice SBKs you might be underwhelmed by the front brakes and suspension. Good news is that it can be sorted out without much trouble. The Monsters fit the same brakes as the 998, calipers and rotors. You can even go for the 999 calipers too.

Forks is a little more hassle. Some folks have done cartridges, some even go crazy with a GSXR fork swap (also beefs up the brakes) - but that's more involved as different spacers are needed

So - see you around and welcome
-Throttle's on the right, so are the brakes.  Good luck.
