What is the best air filter kit for a Monster 1100 EVO? Considering an ECU reflash and slip-on mod ...

That's a hard question to answer. I'll give you my experience with my 1100s. With cored pipes (basically a slip on) I had best HP#'s with stock ecu and stock filter. With a Zards map flash,DP filter and airbox cover I had - 1or2 HP with greater midrange tourque. Also had a DP map flash can't remember what the numbers were, but the Zards was better. Both flashed maps I found that ride quality was better. And I rode for a few months with stock and DP filters installed and I couldn't tell any difference. I also checked the plugs with both and always had a nice tan
color.

I think with your mods the stock filter would be fine or the DP(K&N)
The DP filter and cover are on the left

I wouldn't get the MWR with what you have now.

Thanks for the info. I might keep stock for a while and see.
Why you said not to go MWR way?

That's what I'm running now with a full system and tuning.
With just a flash and slip on I think the MWR would move to much air for your bike.

Naked,

I have been going through my mind about doing something like this for my '09 1100 (non-evo), You did not use a Power Commander it seems, why?

Be advised that I am not suggesting that you SHOULD have, I am simply asking why you didn't.

I haven't felt the need to.  With the Rexxer flash and the fine tuning just done by my tech (Eric from The Clubhouse Motorsports) I don't see the benefits I'd gain. I'd have to spend another 600ish for the power commander and autotune. For what? It runs great now, still gets great mileage.
If I had pod filters and engine mods then I would go for the power commander, but I don't.
