Pro Italia - I hope the cops were able to recover all the stolen merchandise and those thieving bastards get stuck in a cell with some guy named Tiny who likes long walks in the yard and cuddling at night.

According to the article the guys didn't get too far, so I'd assume the stolen stuff was recovered. Might have to stay with the cops a spell but it seems like it all should be back.

Wonder if insurance covers stuff like this. Doesn't seem to cover shop lifting (just my impression) but a massive after hours theft is a little easier to point at than a couple missing packs of gum at inventory time.

depends on the policy and who the thief is.   for example, employees are treated differently than customers, and not all employees are treated the same (depends on responsibilities).

Title change please: "Burglars Hit Pro Italia." You can't rob a store, you rob people.

Two hour high speed chase but they only made it to Hawthorne? Idiots.

Speeddog

Article said "thousands of dollars worth of riding gear".

That could be as little as a fullsuit, helmet and gloves.... or everything on display.

But all in all, not a smart crew, breaking glass at ~6am on a Saturday.

you burgle a place, rob a person.   traditionally burglary was limited to the dwelling place, activity occurred at night and required both a breaking and an entering:  If you were invited in, there was no breaking so you could not be burglarizing a store if you were a shoplifter (you were invited in), but even simply turning an unlocked doorknob was sufficiently "breaking" as the law (and so the definition) evolved.  Damn near everywhere has removed the "dwelling" and "night" requirements for burglary: any ol' place at any ol' time works.

This is the most imbecilic direction I've ever seen a thread take.

That's a big statement considering the denizens of this board

This is buggery not burglary.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.
