I remember seeing the 1st Alien flick in the theater and couldn't wait to go back and see it again. #2 Aliens was even better in some respects. Went downhill after that in my opinion. But I am amped up to see what they do with this one. The first Alien film is one of my top 2-3 sci-fi films ever. [popcorn] [bow_down] [bacon]

The one spot on the original movie where I thought they dropped the ball was "Mother's" room.
here we have an interstellar refinery ship with the capability of refining ore autonomously.
yet you talk to the ships computer via a Commodore 64 type interface? But that's the 2012 me talking like
this, not the 1979 me. Way back then I thought it was cool as all hell that they were talking to a computer.
I really put the first two movies, Alien and Aliens in the top tier as well as far as Sci-Fi goes.
Up there with Blade Runner and other cutting edge films of the time.

Ya know. I went out and read the synopsis on this film and I think a prequel to Alien isn't going to be the case so much
as a movie that takes place prior to Alien with some of the original characters, ie. the space jockey, the company, some type of xenomorph. This movie is going to be about the origins of mankind and alien DNA rather than the kickass let's kill
aliens as the main plot line. Though I hope there is lots of "lets kill aliens" in this movie.

This is an interesting read. Technically its AVP but does cover the whole Alien timeline

Blade Runner remains my fave sci-fi flick.....

As for Prometheus....finally, something worthy of seeing in the theater.  [thumbsup]

Face it, Battlefield Earth is the best, EVER!

Two cases of beer, three or four irreverent wise-cracking friends, and you'll laugh so hard you sides will ache for days.

Now THAT'S SciFi I can get behind.

That would be a great movie for "Mystery Science Theater 3000"...

Looks like a bad road trip. I'd start looking for a new job ASAP. [laugh] Nothing good happens on distant planets inhabited by critters with shitty attitudes. ;D

Don't see the wifely unit seeing this with me at the theater, not her cup of tea. But I LOVE the first Alien movies and good sci-fi in general... like Blade Runner. [thumbsup] Sounds like this will be an all guy movie trip like Senna. [popcorn] [bacon]

The words "nuke it from orbit" come to mind. :)

I really don't want to have to wait another month to see this. Actually longer because opening night just sucks.

I don't do opening nights either.  Actually, it's rare that I go see a movie in the theater.

But for this, I'm considering it
