I was thinking it would look good with a bird on the tank

facing the left
Comes a time
When the blind man takes your hand
Says don't you see
Gotta' make it somehow
On the dreams you still believe

The CF air box is by Carbonvani. It replaces the two plastic side vents with one piece and adds a metal grill over the radiator. It does require the removal of the emissions cannister but has noticeable effect ( in person). It goes really well with the CF lower engine cowl which has a similar grill.

Is this the CF airbox of which you speak?

personally....your bike doesn't appeal to me, and that is because I am just not enamoured with the newer generation Monster's....that is MY personal opinion, for which there are more than a few here that share that...hence where some criticism comes from ( I am guessing)....I am in no way saying to didn't put work into it, as you obviously did, but there are things I would change...and Raux pointed out a few that I agree with...

painting the bezel around the headlight
painting/powdercoating the rearsets ( or replacing them)
a SBK/Corsa front fender

these are 3 personal aesthetics I would change right away if it were my bike...but like people have said...it is all subjective opinion and we all have differing ones...either you agree or you don't...and if you can't take em either way....maybe you should reconsider the tone of your posts, as they do come off rather arrogant which would seem to automatically instigate a level of reaction, and not necesarily a positive one generally speaking....

I appreciate the constructive criticism (works much better than blatant insults). I realize now that my posts, including the subject line, rubbed everyone the wrong way which wasn't my intention at all. I just wanted to share some the mods that I personally haven't seen on this generation Monster. Unlike Arrick's dream machine, all of my mods are within reach for an average Monster owner and still has a dramatic effect (maybe more negatively than positively). Everyone by me seems to really like what I did, so Im glad to hear what the true Monster experts think ( good and bad).

Me = New Gen Monster.
Kopfjäger Cupcake kraptaker = New Gen Monster front fender
Raux = New Gen Monster.

I dont think its a new vs old discussion.  The critique is transgenerational.

^^ What he said.

I personally think Raux did a nice job of replacing his headlight. DoWorkSon also did this, both are good examples of an aesthetic improvment over OEM.

The new gen Monster looks, IMO, like it had the front light "smushed" in. "Smushed," is that even a word? LOL

Raux, buddy, don't take me seriously. I'm just messing around. Humor doesn't translate well through pixelated script on forum posts.  :P

**House keeping hat now off. Tin foil hat back on**  :P

Whereas I really like the look of the new gen Monster headlight.  But then we'd be having that tedious old vs new discussion.  And we're not.  Remember?   ;D

Here endeth my part in all this threadjacking.

I wanna hear more about that CF airbox  [popcorn].

[clap] Fixed the attitude, now lets talk about your avatar...

There are some really well done newer gens on here, though I like the look of the older ones better.  Raux and ungeheuer have great newer ones.  The old ones are hard to make look bad, the new ones are hard to make look good.

Raux

So its not a airbox but the lower oil cooler cover

Not a radiator either, it's an oil cooler.   ;)

well technically it's an oil cooling radiator instead of a water cooling radiator.  ;)

Well it's an oil cooler before it's a radiator.  :-*
