Why?

I've just always had holsters with an extra mag and practice mag drops while at the range with my carry holster.

I suppose if eight Winchester SPX hollow points don't do the trick...I have a shitty shot, right?

Just get a single mag pouch that mounts on your belt.

Yeah, I've thought about that but the area I live in is a little hyper sensitive and will call the police on you if you look different. I am not turning this in a cop bashing way at all.

I was at the grocery store last year and I was reaching for something and must have flashed my gun in my jeans.

I was met walking out of the store with three officers with their guns pointed at my head. They were just doing their job. All was fine, we had a great chat about overly sensitive people, etc. I bought them all a Starbucks and we went on our merry ways. I am still friends with one to this day.

Any ideas?

...
I ordered same-key safes from Center of Mass... they have in-pocket mag holders (wallets) for about $20.  They'll hide the outline of the mag if you're that concerned about it not being visible to the neighbors. These aren't really a tactical/speed option, but it would be better than not having a spare with you.

I just heard back from Sarah Rittgers in regards to T's percussion smoothbore.

Here's what she said...

Thank you for your emails requesting information on your rifle in your possession.
After viewing the photos you sent, I believed the rifle in your possession was Austrian.  I wasn’t quite sure so I sent your photos to the firearms curator, Jonathan Ferguson, who works for the Royal Armouries which is the National Museum of  Arms and Armour in the United Kingdom.  He also came to the conclusion that it is Austrian.  He wrote that based on the photos, it appears to be a Model 1842.  Ferguson further writes that the Model 1842 retained the finger grooves of the French M1777/1822 series, the style of conversion is the same, and the double-eagle is pretty conclusive.  This firearm could well have been brought over after being sold out of military service in Austria, or sold/transported to Prussia.
I hope this information helps!

I can't take a decent pic of it so here's a web image...

Thanks to Triangleforge for the referral to get it identified.
