-Never lie. If you don't know something tell them you will find out. Conversely, know more about what you are selling (and the competing product) then anyone.

This point is my biggest gripe with crappy salesmen.  I will make a point to NOT purchase anything if I catch them in a lie, or don't know their product.

I dropped a couple grand on tools about a month ago and was willing to give the business to a local hardware store.  I started asking him his opinion of a certain product and he started to rave about it... top of the line, best you can buy, its as smooth as a Cadillac... then he told me he was excited to give it a try soon.  He then spouted off some information that was just plain false, and I walked out.

I placed an internet order and saved $150 in sales tax.

Good luck,  I know I couldn't do it to save my life...

Still unemployed  :'(  I have been out of work for 3 months now. I have interviewed with 2 different companies and made it to second interviews each time, but no joy.

I just heard yesterday that I did not get the safety mgr job at the bakery. :'( :'(

I like being home, but it is getting old. I have time, but no money. I am volunteering at the Safety Council.
Lost my motivation to go to the gym too. How do I get it back?

Stella

Uh!  Sorry Mary!

Have you asked either company why you didn't get the position you interviewed for?

I've been sending a few friends/family to this site:   www.flexjobs.com
Minimal fee for a month to apply for full and part time telecommuting jobs around the country (plus local to you jobs).
Might be something there.

Does Seattle offer career counseling or assistance of any kind?

What about creating your own health/safety consulting business?

You know it will get better.   It's hard to see that now though, I'm sure.  Chin up!

Headed back to the 8 to 5 life!

Accepted an offer today. I will be working at the Evergreen Safety Council.  First 3 months I will be working the front desk. It is the best way to learn all the programs, including MC training, and get up to speed. After 90 days I will move to the Safety side of the house and get to create classes, teach them, do inspections for clients, etc! I did an internship there in 2010.

I get to work half days for the first 6 Friday's so Lucy and I can go to doggy school. They are going to pay me for that time too!

I find it disturbing that you're imagining me in a sauna, never mind the teletubbie aspect of it
