you can improvise with the holding tool -- an impact wrench to get the nut off won't need it.

if it's the sprag bearing, you may have to order it... :-/

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

So, any progress? Or is it time to rename the thread,"He Man moves to Columbus?"   ;)

Too soon. Too soon. :)

I've been there. The BMW's gearbox took a shit south of Indianapolis on a trip (oddly enough) out to NYC a few years back. Nothing worse than being stranded with only your wits and a few tools in an Auto Zone parking lot. Good luck.

He Man's an engineer. Bubble gum, zip ties, and duct tape, and he'll be fine. I've done trips with El Matador and DesmoLu; I've seen it happen   ;)

Another alternate rename can be, "Damn you guys for talking me into riding to Colorado rather than putting the bike in the van!"

The van option went away on him, otherwise that would be entirely appropriate  ;)

...and he has the goodwill of a DMFer in Columbus to bail his sorry ass out.

Nice work Metallimonster.  [thumbsup]

Good save!

Apparently the Ducati gods have not been appeased by our (my?) Summer's sacrifices as of late. I had to get bailed out by my dad after my battery completely died at the gas station while I was filling up getting ready to leave town, but I suppose that's to be expected of what appears to be the seemingly  stock battery on an 05.  Still a few hours left on the holiday weekend so everyone be safe.

No it show be changed to "He Man moves in with Metallimonster" or really "He Man moves in with Metallimonster, his fiance, and his retired dad!"

Seriously though, He Man is one of the coolest guys I've ever met.  All in all we had a great weekend.  I got to take him to the Horseshoe to see were the Buckeyes play and he got to come to a family bbq yesterday where he learned how to play cornhole. It's been my pleasure to help him and make a very stressful situation better and hopefully he'll get the parts he needs in about 15 minutes!  It wasn't how I envisioned my weekend going but it sure was fun.

Wow sorry to hear that, hope some goodness pops up.

Sorry about the engine He Man.
NYC doesn't want you to escape, for some deranged reason.

Are you going to switch to a flight to get out here, or are you going to rent a car/truck to finish the rest of the trip?
