Currently working on mods: wet to dry clutch, HID bi-xenon light, end bar mirrors, no belt covers at all, and last but not least OEM 2 sided swing arm to 1 sided arm!

I'll be tearing the whole electric harness apart next week because the electrical it's pretty f up...

Already done tail chop and have rooster tails all the time!

hi im new here to just joined about 10 minutes, do you have pics of your bike? i want to chop the tail and also make it 1 swing arm.

hi, so sorry for not answering sooner. 1st. The tail was already chopped when I got the monster but 2 advises I can give you: if you are an occasional rider, just ride on beautiful Sundays for example, or don't live in a country where it rains 6 months of the year like mine, do it, you are welcomed to chopped it; if what so ever you you drive in the rain be advised that you are going to get a rooster tail every-time it rains... if you have a cowl seat it would get dirty as hell and if you ride with a backpack be sure it is a waterproof one or all your stuff will get ruined... but there is always a solution to everything... I will post you 2 alternatives to chopped tails and no rooster tails just let me get the camera...

Let's get to business: you have 3 options, no tail at all (no fender and no mudguard); leave the mudguard... or leave the fender; i got my plate re-locator here: http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/ depending on your state you could go with the stealth mod or just the no tail mod. (my advice is to 1st buy the kit and then do the tail chop it comes with chop instructions as a bonus!  )

I also got the LED stop with integrated turn signals: http://www.ducatimonstertailchop.com/ducati-monster-integrated-tail-light/ it comes with a resistor to protect the bike and the LED so you don't have to buy fuses like crazy. Got mine 6months ago, ride everyday almost 4 hours in traffic and on the open road, no complains so far, the only thing that I recommend is to make sure with insulated tape that the connections are made well because I almost had a meltdown because of that.. my fault in the end... but the product is solid and it has a bonus: plate light integrated too,

As I told you before the problem with the rain... I just got from e-bay a tail, decorative stuff? not at all, I would use it to not get the rooster tail during the rain season (6months here) http://images.craigslist.org/5N35Ld5Hf3Ed3J53Ndc5ka2afb8d78ca11e34.jpg mine is red and white without the turnsignals this could be your OEM...

Next... the mudguard option...: just found this link http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=56992.0 the upper OEM part, the mudguard plate holder could also be used after the tail chop... the problem is that is not that fancy

Last: this is my tail now: I like it like that, but then again.. rain (yesterday rained and you can see the dirt on the plate, tail light and seat)... to be honest if asked again, I would go with the stealth  plate re-locator in my country police don't give a f*** about it and 2nd although they give a f*** they'll never ever would waste gas on a chase just because of a plate
