I've been reading a lot about diesel lately to replace my gas shop truck.

I'm liking what I'm reading.

You mean swapping the engine?

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

No, as in replacing it entirely.  1/2 ton silverado is lacking, especially with the 5-3/4' bed.

Looking at F350 with the 6.0 turbo diesel with single rear wheels, crew cab 8' bed.

Actually, no towing.

Just hauling 2000-4000 pounds of parts/material around town.

Even if the gas mileage is the same (or even a bit less than what I get now) there would be a time and fuel savings cutting the number of trips in half.

QuoteThe special forces variant called the Pegasus is the sexiest member of the family. It is named after the Pegasus Bridge crossing the Caen Canal the British 6th Airborne Division wrenched from the Germans in the invasion of Normandy in World War II. Lets just say Newman might have met a different fate at the end of Jurassic Park if he was driving this Jeep variant with two .50 caliber machine guns mounted to the Jeep’s roof and backseat.

Pegasus was built to load inside a CH-47 Chinook with the ability to unload it in 15 seconds. The Jeep is powered by a direct injection, common rail, turbo charged, intercooled diesel engine. The 24 volt electrical system features one NATO jump socket with two USB sockets.
