I've never had a blockage that required a plunger to release so it is just an assumption.
Maybe some may like such activities.

these same pantless janitors also get their kicks with a wet/dry shop-vac too!!!...lil bit a vaseline in the tube and they seem to get more of their rocks off than with a $50 hooker...
