Dang it.

Picked up a galvanized nail in the rear tire tonight.  I think it's patch-able.  It's right in the middle of the zig-zag siping groove, 1/2 way between the centerline and the chickenstrip.

There's at least 1000+ miles left on this Pirelli Corsa - it'd be really painful to replace it.  So, I'm going to patch the f'er.

whaddya guys say?

NAPA?  Knechts?  Tire shop?

Thx.

I got a kit at GI Joe's.  Comes with reamer and gooey sticks to fix about 4 holes.  Just make sure you ream a good size hole, not a natural thing to do to a tire, but that's the way it works.

Please, no reamer jokes.

Thank you.

Yah, that's where I got mine too - same of similar kit.  I think mine said Motorcycle, ATV, and Go-kart . . . thankfully haven't had to use it yet but it's there, under the seat, ready and able to help me out in a bad situation.

It is not nice to finding out you ran over a nail because you see sparks when doing burnouts......

I've always heard that you should just repair the tire if you get a nail in it. Not suppose to be as safe ???, I am figuring that, that is a rumor from the tire companys???

I would say not to do a track day on a repaired tire.  General motoring should be fine.  When you take a car tire to a tire store, the do the same kind of repair and send you on your way.

Hey fellers,

thank for all the tips.  Got me the tire repair kit from Joe's and plugged it up nice and clean.

since it had 2500 miles on it, i decided to replace the tire anyway.  I didn't want to have a failure out in the hoary wilds of Clackamas where i usually ride.  Ha.  I like that word - hoary.

It got me Motocorsa Thurs night and picked up the bike w/ new tire Saturday afternoon.

Sorry for being off the board for a little while -  my computicator wasn't working.

c u around.
