Even when I quit...even when I take a day off to avoid having to deal with stupid...

He finds a way to piss me the *&%$ off.

I get an email...on my personal email...asking me for the status on something that he has been told literally 20 times since Monday.

But I am getting my revenge.

The client has a stand-alone SOW for this position. The reason being is that this position is very much independent of the rest of the team in what needs to be done and what is expected.

The employer wants to replace me with an internal resource...and keep him doing his normal responsibilities as well. Not in a transitional role while they hire someone new which is what the client wants, expects and is contractually entitled to...but permanently. They wouldn't even let me help out other parts of the team because of the 100% uptime SLA for these systems.

Last night, after work, I met up with one of the VPs from the client, the director in charge of that group an the technical engineer that helped me develop and deploy.
I explained to them what my employer's plans were and that I agreed with the client's entitlement to a better level of service.
I was only sort of surprised to find out that the client intends to give the firm a grand total of 90 days to turn their shit around on a very large and barring a miracle impossible number of things that are glaring shortcomings.
The client then mentioned that the only part of the entire group that was meeting and pretty consistently exceeding their expectations was me...and me alone.

In fact, the client flat out told my employer not to bother bringing in the new/additional team manager because there would be no need when it came right down to it. My employer did so anyway. And the CIO of the client is PISSED because he was the one who told them not to.

SO knowing that we were close to being outed anyway but now knowing how precipitously close to the abyss the contract really is, I suddenly have zero remorse.

Sure, I feel bad for the client and if the client were to offer me my position but working directly for them, I would snatch it up in an instant.
But now knowing how incredibly shady the employer's dealings have been with the client, I am in no way feeling any obligation to actually finish out my 2 weeks.
Oh sure...I will go in. And I will sort of train my replacement but I damn sure will walk if they continue to piss me off.

Spend your time sticking magnets to crt monitors if there are still any around.

Also, lunchmeat fits into cd drives

Actually, an open can of tuna inside a computer case on top of the power supply is a very effective way of telling someone to make the beast with two backs off.

That is a good one.

Years ago I used to work at a Perkins (small local chain restaurant) and we'd sometimes hide fish in the microwave.  The "ceiling" was removable for cleaning.  We'd put the fish on top of that.

As most people would not remove the panel and just wipe it off instead the fish would often be there quite some time.

It was also unaffected by the microwaves since it was outside the radiation area [laugh]

Hot...Hazy...Humid

Definitely have the hot & hazy.

Send a box of that Humid!

We have this girl ('scuse me, Sgt.) in the public relations office, awesome photographer.

On another note, there is still an over abundance of piece of shit people out there.  Details after respond to the call that was routed to me yesterday about one of our crew chiefs from their civilian job managers.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Yup...

everything is roofed except the porch that has to be built and the bay window it attaches to. [thumbsup]

I got a price for drywall yesterday...

I'll be getting another.

Methinks he's on crack.

Crack addiction is pretty rampant these days. . .

Just this morning in the news a local guy was sentenced for distribution to a friend.  Said friend died after injecting coke & heroin.

I cannot fathom.

I'm great at it provided that I don't spackle it and instead am just using it as a base to put something else on top of.  [laugh]
