And no, I'm not talking about slow children.  Every thread that I have read about the Hyper-Motard makes it seem like a wonderful bike.  Unfortunately, it seems that you have to be of fairly large stature to ride it.  I don't think I would be comfortable riding a bike, that I would have to hop off of at stoplights.  Anyone know if you could lower it without losing too much of the bike's abilities?

Some people have removed quite a bit of padding from their seats so that they can stand more comfortably at lights. One girl inserted a gel pack to make her ultra thin seat even more comfortable than normal. So that might be something you can consider

I've 5'8" and find it manageable, but I'm not flat-footing it by any means.  It's not at tall as a DRZ-400S, abut about the same as the DRZ-400SM

I'm 5'9", 32" inseam and when I test rode it I only had to lean a bit to the side at stop lights.  When it was moving I didn't care whether it was too big or not- it was fun!  The DP seat is supposed to be a little lower too.

I just test rode a stock one this weekend. I'm 5' 9" and could get both feet down, although not flat. How tall are you?  One complaint I had about the bike was the footpegs. It was a little nub that left half my foot hangin off.... weird.
