Could be a temperature thing, my brakes lock up on cold mornings for the first few miles.

Howie

Glad you are pretty much OK.  You might have went metal to metal or the pads may have been contaminated, take them off and look.  As far as the frame goes, I think you could check it yourself with your skills.  The repair manual should have frame measurements.

Glad you're ok, bike parts can be massaged/replaced.  Is it possible there was something on the road surface?

ungeheuer

No advice.... just glad you're alright and the bike isnt too badly off.  I know you know what you're doing on a track... so dont beat yourself up....   shit happens.... and at least it didnt hit the fan too much.

I'm so glad I read these things.
I feel bad for the people that have these "accidents", but I always learn from them.
It sucks to have to replace new parts on a bike... but feet and ankles take a long time to heal.
The idea of 400lbs of steel grinding my ankle to a bloody pulp over hot bumpy asphalt usually deters me from wearing my tennis shoes, especially if I'm riding aggressively that day, even if my "riding boots need to be repaired"; but HEY you always learn something new!  [thumbsup]

Aren't you the Panigale hater?

Glad you're ok for the most part.

IF you're down to the metal on the brake pad then yeah it might have locked up from too much friction as the metal tried to weld itself together.

Glad nothing is broken.  Video no work.

Raux

seems like there's a lot of dirt/dust around the track. how was the wind that day. did you get sand blown across the track?

also, was that corner with the heavy bumps the one? mayeb the front washed out due to front end not being able to keep up with the surface?

and... mistakes happen.

check the steering stop to see if it's moved at all. and the bar may be bent. as far as welds, check for paint flaking around them.

polivo

ok, ill ask.. Why were you on the brakes, in a turn? You should break before the turn so you can roll on smoothly throughout the turn?
