I'll be at 4:45 and Iris if they want to swing by - we're supposed to have a photo booth or something out there.

Race was on Sunday.

I finished 4th in my division.  I really wanted to podium.

I did PR by 10min.  It was my fastest 5k time since high school.

Have been feeling a little deflated about the whole event in general though.

B wasn't able to attend due to Henrik's surgery and my coach was as supportive as I had hoped.   :-\

It was comforting to know some DMF peeps were watching me on line.   [thumbsup]

Sorry you didn't quite get to the podium.  Had another friend recently do the Leadville 100 mtn bike race (100 mountain biking miles varying between 9200 and 14,400 feet).   Missed the cut off by 3 minutes.   Poor guy.

Goals not met are the suck but congrats on the PR by 10 minutes!!   [thumbsup]

I feel your pain, Diva.

Parents and older brother (who runs marathons for kicks) were in town last month for my first ever 10k.

Older brother decided to enter. You know, just for shits, giggles, and to be an asshole.

He finished 2 minutes ahead of me. Apparently it took both parents to walk him the 20-something steps from the finish line to the refreshment tent. So who was waiting for me at the finish line?

Oh. That's right. The same person who's been waiting for me at every finish line so far: no one.  [thumbsup]

Ha. That's not entirely true. My ex-girlfriend/current running partner was there, as she'd sprinted to the finish ahead of me. Thankfully her new boyfriend was waiting there for her. So, you know, I got to be there for that.

And seriously: if you're even in podium contention, you're RIDICULOUSLY fast and I bow down to you.  [bow_down]

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.

Break-ins are not uncommon in our 'hood, there's a crack house or three down the street...  (This house was rummaged through a few years ago by breaking a window.)

I left the garage door (alley entrance where the bums walk through) wide open. All. Day.

High end bikes (moto, pedal), nicely equipped Snap-On tool chest (unlocked), miscellaneous power tools, equipment blah blah blah..... all for the taking.

The bums and addicts and their hooligans must have had the day off.  All is accounted for.

Garage is detached from the house.  I let the dogs out in the back yard after work, noticed that there was a lot of light shining in the garage via the one window that faces the house.  Realized it wasn't an overhead light, well, not of the light bulb variety anyway.

That was the OH make the beast with two backs! moment.   (I had gone to the dumpster in the alley, via the garage, before I left for work - clearly forgetting to close the garage door on my way back into the house.)

I is stoopid and kair-less.   :P     Oh, and grateful.    [thumbsup]

Yeah.... I would've been homeless, bikeless, boyfriendless.... living in my friend's chicken coop.

Big "whew".   (I still feel a little nauseous about the "what if".)
