i like the packaging :)
i don't mind the bible verse
the website does need work, but totally understandable since it's so new. i would suggest a recipe section for how to use the jelly, because when most people think jelly they're thinking fruit jelly.
i would also suggest an "about" section of the website. the family story behind it is a good one. a picture of you, your dad & your brother would be a nice addition i think.... if you are concerned about the john 3:16 thing, then maybe the about section is where it belongs, so it's not the first thing site visitors encounter
Also, like previously suggested, a better description of the product "Pop`s Angry Pepper Jelly is a sweet yet HOT jelly, made with fresh all natural ingredients" ..that doesnt tell me what i'm eating. it doesn't even indicate the type of pepper or peppers used. an ingredients list should be added.
as for marketing, you might also want to utilize twitter, you can contact a large group of people pretty quickly through twitter.

good luck!! :)

Good suggestions. We will definitely be adding more over the next few weeks, as well as cleaning up what we have a bit.

I know a lot of focus has been given to the bible verse reference on the site. While I may not be as religious as my dad, it's still his product and we are going to keep it that way. If that puts off potential buyers than so be it. It's something he did to personalize it for him. After I've given it a lot of thought the best thing to do will be to keep it on there for his sake.

I truly appreciate all the feedback! The product itself is amazing. To answer some questions regarding the ingredients, the peppers contained are Habanero, Jalapeño and Red Bell peppers. We use it on a lot of stuff, most recently an "angry grilled cheese". We will definitely be putting up some pictures as wells suggestions. I also like the idea of the back story being put up as well.

Again, thanks for the input. Hopefully some of you will take the "plunge" and purchase a jar, then I'd really look forward to your feedback.

Sounds like some interesting stuff....  [drool]

The site seems a little lacking at this point, but is a fair start. I sort of cringe when I see anything religious on such a site, but it doesn't necessarily kill a sale for me.

Its funny how intolerant the people that demand tolerance are.

If that was directed at me then do it in a pm. He asked for input and I gave it while asking nothing in return.

Yea let's not let the thread start to flame here. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and I asked for honest input. I respect both of your views.

Simple website but it gets straight to the point.

And really, it doesn't matter what the website looks like or what your father believes or anything of the sort. He is selling a product that hopefully taste good.

I'll give it a try  [thumbsup]

FYI- In 'n Out Burger has numbers referencing verse on their packaging and Chick-Fil-A is an overtly religious organization and both chains are insanely popular with people of many beliefs.  Proves that if it tastes good, people will buy it.

My pops lives up your way (Monroe) so I'll try to pick up a jar at one of the stores listed next time I ride up there to visit him.  Good luck!

Oh, and I second these suggestions:

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
