i think they know if they go off-book too far that they'll lose a big part of their fan base.

Hope so. US TV could use a little more influence from the Beeb and not let shows run over long because they are trying to milk every dime they can. Of course there's Dr. Who which has been running since the bronze age... But they manage to keep it from the jump some how.

Dr Who is special because it is campy and low budget and that's part of the appeal.  Also, you have people in their 80s who watched Grand Moff Tarkin as the Doctor and still love the show, AND you have this build-in mechanism for putting a new person in the role every few years...  VOILA perfect series!  Writers' dream!

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Holy crap... I knew both roles were Peter Cushing, but somehow my brain disassociated the Dr. from the Star Wars.

my feeling is they are trying to stick as closely as they can to it.  shows like this rarely have more than 3-4 seasons anyway.  if they can stick to the original material and go that long, then they've won.  i think they know if they go off-book too far that they'll lose a big part of their fan base.

Thats why I'm excited about S3!!

*Spoiler from end of Season 2***

Seeing the prison in the season finale of S2 was awesome (probably the only thing I liked about the finale) and knowing the characters to come are gonna be pretty cool. They've got at least 3 more seasons if they stick to the comics.

Speaking of comics....I now have 82-101. if anybody wants those I can put them in the dropbox and send out the link

it is - held in the Posta di Donna (womans guard) position like so:

He's holding it properly, she's not.  The way she's holding it is a good way to bend the blade.

Sweeeet. I'll be getting one of those! [thumbsup]

Am I dreaming in colors or did I hear that the network is not picking the next season of the WD? I swear I either heard that or a friend told me. Rumor? Truth? [popcorn]
