I have been wanting a comfortable and protective leather for when it starts getting a little colder here in SC (I still have like 3 months).  I have tried on several brands at my local shops, but almost all of them are too short.  I normally wear a Frank Thomas textile jacket that fits me near perfect and has elbow/shoulder/back pads.  I am 6'1" and the leathers that fit me in the arms come up to my mid belly (which isn't that large).  The only ones that actually fit me are the HD type with no padding or real protection other than the material.  Anybody have this problem that could help me out and point me in the right direction of some good brands?

Icon tends to size for 'normal' people.  so does tourmaster.

I wear Icon XL perf leather.  I am 6"0" 195 lbs. 35" waist, with no gut.  The waist is let out all the way.  Nice room in shoulders and chest (but no too much) and arms are plenty long.  I found out why this perf leather was so cheap (Final price $170, marked down several times).  Here in the Pacific NW you can only comfortably wear perf leather a handful of days a year.  The jacket is great though - nice leather thickness and details/zippers are excellent.  Gonna get an A* waterproof/breathable cordura for the 360 other days of the year.

Thanks for the replies... I will look into these brands.  I felt bad trying on literally almost every jacket in the store, but for I am really picky about the comfort and fit.  I will keep up my search...

alpinestars fits me great, got non-perfed leather, and perfed textile from them,
love them both, fit great....
have a ducati/ dainese leather as well, fits good but larger in the chest/ gut, but its alright...
have a triumph perfed as well, fits about the same....
my 2 cents....;)

Go to Dainese.com and go to  motorbike   under collections , then go to the drop down menu to long jackets , then the next drop down go to leather and then search. It's the SuperFly Jacket. . It's a longer jacket w/ armor. See what you think.

Personally I am 6'5" and weigh 233 lbs. w/out gear.  I am very comfortable in the Dainese Short Jackets that stop at my waistline and the sleeves stop just below my wrists.

These are the Jackets that you are talking about not fitting you. I wear a EU 60/ US 50. I can easily take the removeable Armor out and wear a Dainese or BMW Safety Armor Jacket under the Dainese Short Jacket .

A true motocycle jacket for a Sportbike or Monster rider is ment to fit snug. It takes a while to get used to the fit but after a while you will come to find that feeling a natural feeling. I went through the same thing when I got my 1st Dainese Short Jacket. I thought it was too small . They are made to be worn w/ full Gauntlet gloves for the best protection and feeling.

Dainese Short Jackets for the most part come w/ either a cool weather zip out liner or the new thermos like " Bubble " liner that keeps you cool in summer and warm in cool weather.
