I can't give you really the information you are looking for specifically because I really wasn't in the Health Care Professional category. I worked at Baptist Heath system for several years, but it was in the dietary dept as a bookkeeper and then in the Marketing department as a special events coordinator.  Downtown San Antonio is gaining popularity and on its way up so purchasing a house downtown is probably a good bet.

You rang?  :P

Baptist is a big system. Word on the street is they entered in agreement with UTHSC-SA med school and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in building a new stand alone children's hospital.
I don't think any of the Baptist hospitals have a size-able peds dept. Plus you being a traveler my take is your not looking long-term so here and now are your better options.

Try Methodist children's hospital and/or SAMMC (formerly know. As BAMC --> military facility) they have many civilian positions and a good peds dept, trauma level 1 etc etc.

Best of luck.
