Me to . I keep tweaking the design, so it is turning out a bit more complicated than I first planned. Just need to make up my mind and fabricate it already.

Sportster 883:

Picked up a lot of the parts I needed. Also, found some time to bolt on the new foot controls. Should get most of the work done on the bike this week.

Side note - I do no have creative control over this project since the bike belongs to my mother. So there will be a few things that I am not thrilled with . All things considered, the bike will look much better when done.

This side gave me trouble cause of the exhaust. Had to grind down one of my allen keys to get to some of the bolts.





New rear fender:
Shortened it as much as I was allowed. Still need to mock it up and make a few cuts on it before paint.



Rear wiring harness:
I basically need to build a new harness for the back of the bike. The little black box in the left part of the photo below controls the turn signal and brake light functions.

Pulled the old suspension out of the car. Going back with a more modern setup from a company called XV Motorsports. Using their level l suspension in front and the level ll in the rear. also getting a custom Ford 9'' rear differential from a place called Strange Engineering, and front/rear disk brakes from Wilwood. Wilwood is putting together a kit for me since my car will technically be a dodge in front and a Ford in back. Getting the master cylinder from XV.

All this and 10.5 inch wide tires will hold me on the road and keep me from dying when I brake or go around a corner in the car.

Using the stock lower control arms, spindles, and K-member up front. the ones on my car were junk and no one reproduces them so I had to go digging for some new ones. Lucky for me, I live about an hour and a half away from the largest Mopar salvage yard in the world. Stephen's Performance , would of had a hell of a time finishing the car without these guys. Also, got some repro. upper control arms while I was there.

Monster update:
Anyone here ordered parts from AEM? How long did it take to get them?

Got some news from Bellissimoto on my hub. They just got their order in from AEM and my parts didn't show up. So, guess I am going to be waiting a while longer  .

Should get the material in for my under seat tray soon. Look for some progress on that shortly.


Shop update:

883 Sportster:

Machined a quick adapter for the air cleaner and bolted it on. Disassembled the back of the bike and got a tire / seal put on the new wire wheel.

Finished and painted the rear fender, installed the new wheel, and made a wiring harness for the back of the bike.

Charger:

Welded in a chassis stiffening system designed by XV. Should keep the car from flexing and let the suspension do its job. I know the under side of the car looks a bit rough. Going to strip it and hit it with some spray on sound deadening insulation before the new suspension goes on.

Rear diff showed up, has a 3.55 gear ratio. Should be a good performance street setup. Also, had to find and refurbish a set of leaf spring U brackets for my trailing arms. Some idiot that owned the car before me drilled holes in the ones that are on it.

Started assemble on the engine for the car. Going to be running a 498 stroker motor, with a 10.5-1 compression ratio. Should make around 525 HP / 625 ft-lbs torque. A place in Huntsville, AL called R&R Speed Shop did the machine work on the block.
