Gidday, coming to Sydney to see my daughter and staying in Darlinghurst. Riding the Monster down from Brisbane, overnighting in Tamworth. Wondering the best/easiest route into Sydney to Darlinghurst. Not very familiar with Sydney. Any advice??  [thumbsup]

Cheers

Hi Craig,
There are a few routes that you could take but it depends on what you are wanting.
Best I leave it up to our resident mapsters who i'm sure will get great delight in helping there, ie, MV, Rob, Mark to name just a few.
Give us your dates too as we only need a minute excuse to catch up for a coffee around Sydney.
Enjoy your visit mate,

Hey Craig,

Depends on how much time you want to spend on the road.
Heading from Tamworth you can just run down through Muswellbrook and then pick up The Putty road coming in from Singleton in the North West. It is a fantastic run and my favorite direction to ride The Putty Road.

Your other option is to head out to Denman via Muswellbrook and pick up The Bylong Valley Way, you'll need to grab fuel at Denman to start the run and then perhaps again in Rylstone or maybe even into Lithgow (depending on your usual range) then down the Castlereigh Highway into Lithgow and then along The Bells Line of Road into the same sort of area that the Putty brings you into.

Map option One, The Putty Road >clicky me<

Map option two, Bylong Valley Way >clicky me<

Thanks for the advice.  [thumbsup]

Leaving Brissy on the 22nd. The putty road is a good option I think, did it years ago and enjoyed it.

How hard is it to get from the northern suburbs into Darlinghurst? What would be the easiest route for a non-local?

i dont care if you have been a mechanic for 10 years doing something for a long time does not make you good at it, take my gf for an example shes been walking for 28 years and still manages to fall over all the time.

Wrong Craig there Dockstrada.

And Yes that secondary map would be just as fast and no tolls. I did the maps about midnight last night so I was a little tired.

Some more questions. How safe is it to park on the street? How anal are the [leo] with noisy bikes?

Cheers

Can't really say how safe it is to park on the street.
I guess I'd also lock it with something other than the regular steering lock.
Noisy bikes, well as long as your not riding at 7-8000rpm in 2nd gear you'll be fine.
