Hope you can get out of here soon.
It's all in the grind, Sizemore. Can't be too fine, can't be too coarse. This, my friend, is a science. I mean you're looking at the guy that believed all the commercials. You know, about the "be all you can be." I made coffee through Desert Storm. I made coffee through Panama while everyone else got to fight, got to be a Ranger.

Uhhhh.  So sorry to see this....LazyLightningJinglin.  Maybe change the "lazy" to "crack the whip" for good job karma?   ;)

Rhetorical question buy why do some companies have to do this around the holidays / corporate year end.   >:(

Hang in there with the job search.  It can be mentally tedious and oh so frustrating but hopefully not for you!

total bummer to lose your job - especially this time of the year :(

when i lost my job in october, i feared the worst - and the stress of being unemployed is huge. people told me i'd end up in a better job then the last, and at the time it was hard to believe... but something really good can come out of this for you too. reach out to the people from your past, let them know you are looking and to keep you in mind for a position if one should open up.

hang in there :)

Thanks everybody.

I beat myself up pretty bad over this.

I suppose it is a good opportunity to try something new.

Money saving measures is the name of the game.

There was a lot behind it with new HR directors and people looking for personal gain. In the end, I got the shaft.

why can't they put the salary they expect to pay in the make the beast with two backsing job description?

it's not that hard to type it in there. when you finally get a call back and they are all excited and they like what you have done but they want to pay you about half of what you are asking that's just rude.

because they suck,

because despite all the feel-good/group-hug blather and propaganda the HR departments spew out at the employees, the management is as soulless as an xls spreadsheet

because xls tells them to cut operating expense (humans) to jack up profit margins so they can collect their bonuses

because the idea of "building" a national socio-economic commonwealth is no longer important,

because extracting maximum returns, profits and bonuses are all that matter

This is an insult to the Pez community

KnightofNi

i was actually coming in here to say basically what rat said.

i got a letter from the company that laid me off in July telling me i was going to get my bonus this year.
looking at the numbers on the print out, all of the targets were met and exceeded.

so this tells me that myself and the others were laid off to make the numbers look better.
i was never deluded enough to think that i was anything more than just a number, it's just now i really realize that my number had a $ in front of it.

also, i'm not going to complain that i am getting the money, i'll take everything from them that i can. lol
