And don't try taking one of those POSs down a West Virginia mountain road.  Ask Lars about his front brake (that's right, only one caliper/disk) almost falling off.

It's not the bike's fault the bolt fell out.  I'd look at whoever was working on the brakes.  BTW Danny Eslick & company are doing just fine with one front caliper & disc.

I didn't say it was a great bike but it could be fun.
No modification goes unpunished. Memento mori.  Good people drink good beer.  Things happen pretty fast at high speeds.

It's all up to your will level, your thrill level and your skill level.  Everything else is just fluff.

Not to get into Buel controversy but I agree with Mac on the mechanical fault.  I use Vibra-tite VC-3 on most bolts to prevent vibration problems.  I use thread lockers in many instances but the VC-3 has better properties against vibration.

It's always the bike's fault when your dealing with a buell. Poor bike is so ugly that it wanted to kill itself out of shame.
And the sugar fountain fairy swore so hard when she came to super-size that stale hope soybean; liiiike a homeless German woman. Who is this super-sizing spirit-crushing femme? And tell her I'll break a tree root up in her shrimp.

Being faster than you thought possible…it feels good. No, screw thatâ€"it feels like shotgunning a gallon of adrenaline and chasing it with an all-night orgy aboard a burning Viking boat.

Look at this way.  For a Harley, it's pretty decent looking.    [laugh]

Wow, pretty easy to criticize from over there.

In this case the work of an iconic cyclist who's career included dirt, street and racing bikes with a reputation of thinking outside the box in the form of engineering advancement.  IDK how much Erik was involved in the aesthetics of the machines because his focus was the performance of individual parts.

Not an easy task to design, tool and bring a machine to market against an entrenched group of suppliers so although I'm not a fan I definitely applaud the effort.

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

Pretty easy to criticize from anywhere.  I never said anything derogatory about his mechanical design skills, just that the bikes are ugly as hell.

You know, you might be surprised, but he could probably get that price if the bike wasn't down there. I've been following the market on these, and they're only going up in value. Granted this one isn't an '06, but I've seen those sell for up to fifteen thousand with over 10K miles...

Maybe so.  I don't see it myself. Much rather have a Super Sport I would.
